"Since We Survived the Zombie Apocolypse..."

Tommy has had a long ass day today. With the running around, making sure the other teams are okay (except for the Titans; Such a damn shame) and helping with the reconstruction in both the Brownstone (hey, he lived there now) and Brooklyn (he's sure as hell not going to let where he grew up be wrecked) he'd hadn't given a lot of thought of what he ( Read more... )

Life had been hectic, but the good kind of hectic. Not like before when the dead were walking and people were dying. No this was helping people, rebuilding, really getting out there and being a hero on a personal level. Maxine had rarely ever felt so ...whit purpose. she had never known so absolutely sure that this was what she was meant to do ( ... )

Well, there she was, and in a good mood judging from the smile she had. Tommy saw this and moved to wolf down the sandwich a bit. he had almost been done when she came in and he hadn't been paying attention to the door she came in from. Stupid Brownstone kitchen having all that space...

Tommy got up, making sure to dust off any crumbs that came form him eating the sandwich and made his way over to the window she was sat at. And after a second of trying to figure out the right way to ask...

"Hey, Red, can I ask you a question?"

Smooth, Tommy. Real Smooth.

She'd been humming, anyone who had pent any amount of time around her would recognize it as one of the songs from Wicked. When Tommy stepped up, she tucked a strand hair behind her ear and smiled.

"Sure Tommy, what;s on your mind?"

"Well, I..."

Tommys eyes dart around. He doesn't know why, other than he wouldn't want someone cooing over what he was about to do. No one he could tell, although he was worried maybe Courtney was around or Todd was moving about in shadows and-

Crap, he's psyching himself out.

"I was going to be going to catch some matinees in Brooklyn later today and I was thinking that they may..."

Rambling won't help. Just get to the point and stop being famisched!

"Would you want to come along? With me, I mean?"

The Date! nottomcat September 4 2011, 03:34:55 UTC
He wanted a cigarette so bad. Well, no, not really. He'd smell like cigarette smoke and he didn't want to. But still he had his nervousness about the date. He hadn't been on one for almost a year now, and that was a mistake date to go on anyways.

So he paced a bit. And a bit more. Okay, so he was a bit more nervous than he anticipated.

She wasn't exactly late, but she met him at the door after he'd been there and apparently pacing. She'd split the different half hair up half down and a loose curl to it. Pretty peach dress over leggins and sandals were good for walking or sitting, so she was up for plans expanding from just the movies.

She wasn't one for make-up off the stage so it was just a bit of lip gloss and she hoped she looked good. She thought she looked pretty anyway. "I didn't keep you waiting did I?"

"Nah, just got finished early," Tommy said as he looked at her. She looked pretty damn adorable right there. It's a look that seemed to fit her damn perfect. Aside from her costume, which showed off her nice legs, but that's beside the point.

"So, it's one bus ride from here to the Q Line, and then the Q Line takes us right to the Kent Theater. It was my favorite place to go when I was a kid."

"So you can play tour guide then, show me about where you grew up. Where you hung out as little bitty Tommy."

She grinned and chuckled as she stepped forward. She had an over sized purse, about the only thing that didn't really go with the outfit. "Just in case," she shouldered the bag. "Has my costume in it. Never know when there might be trouble."

Katz Deli and home! nottomcat September 10 2011, 03:52:44 UTC
With the movie mostly ignored in favor of his new girlfriend (damn did he love the sound of that) Tommy was willing to head back, although he still wanted to hit Katz Deli. They'd probably be able to get there and finish eating before dark.

"So, Maxine, have you ever been to Katz Deli?"

Maxine had spent more time getting cozy with Tommy than watching the movie, she didn't regret it in the least. As far as she was concerned the night was perfect.

After the movie Tommy brought up the deli. Max shook her head. "No, but it sounds really good."

"Cool. It's a good place to eat, it's on the way back to the Brownstone, and I feeling a little nostalgic."

Tommy led the way, his hand wrapped tightly around hers.

"Maybe.. maybe we can make some new memories to go with the old ones."

Maxine held his hand tightly, looking around to take in the sights.

When Tommy leaves the room, he's ready for the third degree but he's not going to simply take it.

"I don't know what you saw Pops, but nothing bad was happening."

"Boy, I'm just sorry I walked in on ya. I was just going to tell you a couple of things, and I got some serious questions for ya. First off, I know public school did most of the heavy lifting here. Thank God." He shook his head and continued.

"Okay, I gotta know. How serious are you about Maxine over there?"

"Serious of the 'pretty damn' variety," Tommy said.

"Good. Then I don't gotta tell you not to break her heart." He looks at Tommy fiercely. Ma's one of his best friends. Has been for a long time. He feels for Maxine like family already, and he won't see that girl cry.

"Now, I ain't going to say much on the matter. But if you run low, top drawer of my desk in my office."
