Went out to check on Southwind today, and do some prep work for this weekend's trip with friends E & R. We are going back to QCYC on Centre Island for their Pig Roast on Saturday. Went out to visit Southwind after a week of absence. She's good. We had some quiet time together.

We have returned from our 6-day sailing trip. All three of us made it back, despite those nasty, nasty squalls that swept through yesterday. Of the three of us, Southwind suffered all the insult. She's pretty bruised and beaten up and missing a few important pieces, but with some first-aid she'll pull through fine ( Read more... )

Awesome sailing day. Despite the skies roiling and churning to beat the band, there was a 0% chance of rain predicted. And indeed, we experienced none.

Took my brother out. Hasn't sailed before but handled the sheets like a pro due to years of RC model sailboating. And of course, my second first mate, Rick.

Out sailing this evening. Finally, some wind! What a lame spring it's been!

A good sail, got up to 3.6kts.

We were buzzed by a couple of F-18 fighters that circled the downtown - obviously doing a dog & pony show for the gawkers at the Indy.
