We hosted a rather excellent dinner party on Saturday, the memory of which has been almost completely overshadowed by what I believe to be a completely unrelated incident of food poisoning. La Plagne this year, 18 of us. Same chalet as last year. Really like the resort. There are some fantastic runs and restaurants. The only thing it's missing is a great apres bar like Folly Douce in Tignes, but Arpette quickly became a group favourite for meeting up at the end of the day. Old friends of my wife were in town yesterday from Australia, so she organized a pub lunch for about 20 people. Old friends, like old times. Swank pub in north London, roasts to share, lots of wine.
