I cannot explain how much of a relief it is to feel better and more hopeful for days at a time. After realizing that my depression issues were going to be way beyond my control, even with the help of great supportive friends, I got some medical help and I'm now on medication and seeing a regular psychologist and psychiatrist. As you may know, Iowa is a flooded mess. I've heard that over 80 of its 90-some counties have national disaster zones declared in them. Iowa City is still largely underwater. Fall hit me like a Mac Truck yesterday. So cold and windy and crisp, which is lovely, but after this extended summer it felt almost wintery. I forgot how much IV bruises hurt. It's finally moved from being constantly sore to only hurting when I touch it. NO MORE 21ST BIRTHDAYS EVER.
