Who needed flashlights when you had mad ninja skills?

Yup, Yuffie was good. All senses primed and ready for action, just in case any action decided to come along and, y'know, happen. Which was about as likely as Barret turning up with a basket of posies and a bottle of blueberry wine ( Read more... )

( skipping a few hallways. )

Kairi hadn't seen Yuna at all ; perhaps she was somewhere else?

Of course, she knew where the girl was. Gone, just like Rukia was gone.

But she couldn't think about that now. She had to go and meet Sora and Riku before the two of them had a panic attack on her behalf. She was sure she had already taken long enough, anyway. ... That, and since it appeared as though the two boys had squabbled over the bulletin, she had to hurry before they proceeded to fight even more.

The once princess practically ran out of her room and down the hallways, flashlight and sword in hand. The other patients were out and about already, so she had a feeling she was slightly late in her departure from her room. How late, she wondered? Surely not long enough - if so, then there would be no patients at all, right?

It was easier to think about this like a fun treasure-hunting excursion than to think too much on what she had seen the previous night. The ruined town actually reminded the girl a bit of what happened to Akzeriuth. Everything looked like it had been smashed, like in a big earthquake. And not too long ago, either. So what happened to the people? Did they evacuate in time?

...Right, Anise wasn't thinking about that. She was staying positive! If she explored that place more thoroughly, there was a good chance that she'd find valuable clues - or valuables in general! She had to keep her mind on that.

With her head high, Anise made her way to the next hallway.

People were out early tonight. Or so it seemed to Junpei. He lingered in the hallway between the patient blocks before he had this feeling he should probably wait in the Female Block Hallway. It'd make it easier for Aigis to find him.

Less things trying to eat him...

Hime checked her possessions one last time as she stepped out into the hall. Bat, knife, mesh bag. Jacket - considering the chill today and how it had been two nights ago, it would be good to have that. Really, though, how she missed her black dress. The baggy grays felt like she was wearing a sack everywhere she went.

Giving a small "hmph", Hime turned left and headed north.

It was only as they really started walking that the pain started to kick in. So this was what happened when adrenalin wore off- you got the sensory kickback in full force. Not letting it show on his face wasn't going to be easy, but he'd had a lot worse in his time and managed easily enough.

"You're gonna have to lead," he said after a moment, glancing down to Hime. "I'm not exactly familiar with the women's rooms, y'know?"

Hime smirked at the salute before falling in step with him.

"I meant my room number is F18. What's yours? In case something like this happens again," she clarified, though there was no reproach in her tone. Slight amusement if anything. "The clinic, I believe, is in F13."

"It was something I liberated last night from the patient possessions room," she explained, fiddling with the tie with her free hand. It wasn't really the same as the ribbon she usually wore about her neck and the collar was certainly more restrictive than her open-necked dress. Well, different styles had different feels - this certainly was a sharper look that more suited the business world Violet lived in, regardless of what frilly liberties the woman took with the cuffs.

In another life-- What did she mea-- Oh. Violet.

Sheena was unable to suppress the little frown at the mention of that other woman. She had to think of them as completely separate or she'd never be able to put that horrible day completely behind her.

"It's certainly different," she commented.

The ninja's face was still warm a few moments later, and she pointedly did not look over at the youkai. She didn't need to see Yukari to know amused she was. Clearing her throat, she finally replied, "I'll keep that in mind if I ever need to really talk you into something."

Yukari chuckled and followed along after the glowing ninja. With Sheena already embarrassed, should she let her calm down or keep pushing her further? Rather than err on the side of caution, the youkai went with what was more amusing.

"So you're saying I should be extra difficult if I want to entice the sweetest bribes from you, is that what I'm to understand?" she asked as she trailed behind the girl, still swinging their arms merrily. "But, Sheena, isn't it usually you who plays hard-to-get, not I? With those stubborn ninja defenses."

If not reality, then she could still manipulate words while here. Trailing lilting laughter, she followed the girl back into the female block.
