Heh, tonight was promising to be kind of interesting. First time in awhile, it seemed like, for which Xigbar was far too happy to give things a shot. That in mind, he stripped off that aggravating gray shirt and started grabbing his weapons, making sure that they were all okay. Three knives lashed to his ankles, three arrows tied around his waist,

That night, he wanted to find something. It's funny, isn't it, how his goal had shifted from 'someone' to 'something.' Now that Haine had agreed, however tentatively, to his proposition of a ceasefire, Giovanni could let himself focus on bigger targets - namely, the head of the institute. He wasn't exactly sure that the history club would bring him the answers he needed, but networking and finding allies was an important step - and besides, he needed weapons other than this knife.

And as usual, Mori rounded the corner of the hall and made the short trip to pick up his cousin. His mind was still heavy with the worries he had from earlier, but he tried to push them away as he approached Mitsukuni's door. They were close enough that Mitsukuni could be affected by Mori's moods and the last thing Mori wanted to do was upset him right now.
Moving up to the door, he knocked lightly on it and then pushed it open. Mitsukuni was waiting for him as he expected and the taller boy smiled. First order of business was the cake in his hands and Mori moved forward, holding the plate out to his cousin.

As his cousin ate, Mori pondered what he said, giving him a thumbs up to indicate that he was back to his usual healthy self. The Cake Club again was missing members, the spices were no longer an issue, and helping people was a possibility. But helping people might mean going toward Tamaki and then Mitsukuni would realize that their friend was gone. There had to be something else they could do, somewhere else to go that wouldn't reveal Tamaki's disappearance.
They still needed to repay Leon for his services, right? The catboy alchemist with ears that were actually real had given them his own metal to make the shuriken, and Mori felt a debt of gratitude to him. Maybe if they made something for him to eat to help him regain his strength after his sessions and brought him ( ... )

The doors clicked open, signaling Leonard to leave. He opened the door, taking a surveying look into the hallway- Guess the lights went out. He backed into the room, thinking he'd wait until the power returned. He caught sight of the bed, where a grilling tool and a flashlight sat, waiting for him. Nice to be prepared.
Armed with light and a weapon, he departed.

He couldn't believe it.
Of all the ways that meeting could have ended... He didn't think he'd be dragged back to the infirmary. He remembered a cup of water tipping over. His frown deepened. It didn't matter that it'd been an accident. He knew he was gonna get it. But maybe he already did, he thought in bemusement, running a hand through his hair and finding a lump. Two lumps, in fact.
He fumbled under the pillow for his flashlight and got out of bed. Noting that he was alone, he sighed and skulked over to his desk to sit again.
Of course, he couldn't remember why they took him away. He scowled silently at the plate of cold food in front of him, pushing it around with his fork. Back in LA, he would've given anything for a meal like this. He took a bite and chewed slowly. Hey, not bad. However, he ( ... )

He waited a few minutes before leaving, though, going over his notes and the like. There wasn't a whole lot to go over, but better to be safe than sorry.

"Mr. Edgeworth!"
Detective Gumshoe slammed the door open and charged in without knocking. Getting there quick had paid off, but finding the prosecutor inside wasn't exactly a load off his mind. "Sir! A-are you alright!? I heard you got attacked!" He stopped right in front of him, pointing the flashlight at him as an afterthought, but not before silently taking a deep breath. He was about to see Mr. Edgeworth at his worst. He had to be strong...
... Huh!?
He looked fine! What's going on here? "... Is that true?" he asked, almost sounding suspicious as he gave him another cursory glance; the detective was so used to seeing the younger man's clothes that he didn't give them a second thought. Ms. von Karma wouldn't lie about stuff like that. Maybe it hadn't been an 'attack', per se.
...
Gumshoe slouched a little. Why was he always the odd man out?

"No!" Gumshoe barked, looking pained. "How could this...!" Mr. Edgeworth seemed perfectly composed, but he knew the man still felt the pain. He must have been a mess after it happened.
"They, uh, split us up before she could," he replied quickly, looking to the side. The detective was starting to think about the implication of Ms. von Karma as the head prosecutor in this case, but then he received even more bad news. "'Sleep studies'...?" he said with a deep frown, kind of afraid to ask. Mr. Edgeworth's explanation was making him nervous. 'Got him'? 'I didn't get there in time'? 'Left at the scene'? No, he couldn't mean...
