That was mildly annoying. Zack narrowed his eyes and then groped around on his bed before finding the flashlight that he'd fallen on earlier. He clicked it on and then closed his journal shut, taking it over to the desk to store it away.
So this was when the fun started, huh? Nothing too interesting was happening right off the bat, but then the intercom came on a second time, and the Head Doctor started to show his true colors. Zack had no clue what the guy was talking about, but it was just one more thing he could try to ask someone about tomorrow.
For now, he needed to get out and see what things were like for himself. He believed what he'd been told, but it was always better to get a first-hand look at things. The flashlight was the only thing he had when it came to a weapon, but he was confident that he had the strength to land a proper blow if anything decided to attack him.
Putting on the boots he'd found earlier when he only had the smallest of light sources to go by was kind of tricky, but Zack managed. When he finished up with the left boot, he straightened and stretched. His first mission in this place was go. Not that he should be thinking like that, but it was a hard habit to break.
While Zack was worried about the fact that his roommate still hadn't woken up, there wasn't much that he could do about it. Chances were the guy would be safe if he just stayed in bed all night, and from the looks of it, that was what he'd be doing. The ex-SOLDIER cast one last glance at the other man before heading out the door and down the hall, at the ready to smack any ambushing monster with his flashlight.
