It would also be less crowded here, at least for the time being. If they could take care of the zombies here and around it they might be able to hold up in there for

Concerns aside, along with the good thinking Naoto had been somewhat surprised Yousuke bothered going out of his way for her at all. She would have preferred to wield her usual handgun once more, but shouldn't he have worried more about himself? She could do just fine until then, and ... Well, they were here, and going back to do so would have been nothing short of utterly stupid.
She was confident there was something she could use around; a police station was familiar territory to her. Any qualified officer in Japan could own a gun, and America, if she recalled correctly, was more lenient on their laws regarding them; so if this all went according to plan, one would be around. Hopefully. For all she ( ... )

Regardless of that, he could not say he was unprepared, at least not in any sense where he would be shocked by what had to happen. What did he want? To fight? To resist? Or to allow himself to die again?
"I am ready," he whispered. "I will not let you down."

The second zombie lacked the power of the first, seemingly no stronger than the ones that surrounded the building outside. It came at Naoto on slow, uneven steps.

Stepping back, Naoto gave room for the contents of the desk to spill over; she glanced over them quickly before she had to make haste, as their current opponents didn't give them much room for thinking.
One of them had what she was looking for-- good. She wasn't out of luck this time, and all they had to do was defeat them both. Now hopefully that would be easy said and easy done.
The once sheriff had began advancing towards Kaworu-- but the other one started coming for her. Fortunately for them, they outnumbered the attackers (even if it was only by one person), so it made Naoto's next decision easier than if they hadn't ( ... )

Recluse finally got his way to the sheriff's office, staying next to the door outside to keep the zombies off of the others for long enough to get them all in safely. As soon as Marcus was close enough to be sure his former friend could hear him, he started to speak in French, to keep the conversation private while he held off the zombies.
"I know what you're likely thinking about who I brought along with me. He said he is a tracker and has metahuman abilities to match, which would have been useful on a normal night. Unfortunately, things have not gone as planned." Villains always saved themselves first. Afterward, they saved face. Others were usually left to fend for themselves.

He was a coward, sure. Plenty of Decepticons were cowards. But when they got their backs to the wall or their wings to the ceiling they stood and they fought because some things went deeper than programming. Scourge picked up a chair by the back legs and took a fighting stance, teeth ever so slightly bared at the pair.

"W-where are we going?!" he stuttered to ask, hoping to get away from the thoughts of getting himself eaten alive, but his question was soon answered when they got to the place. It was also crawling with the zombies, which did not make Sokka feel any better, but being somewhere was better than the street!

He'd heard what Stefan was saying in French, but felt it wasn't particularly important at the moment. Though he could acknowledge that there were some abilities that would be useful, just not in the current situation. "Scourge, get the door. Only let other patients in," Marcus ordered. He could at least hopefully keep a door closed and defended against simple-minded zombies, since that's what these seemed to be.
There weren't enough zombies in the room at the moment to warrant using his powers, so Marcus charged at the nearest one, turning the charge into a strong uppercut as the zombie clawed at his jacket and attempted to grab him.

There were people in here already - even if Exile hadn't been able to hear or see them, he could have smelled them. This human form did not remove all of his canine senses, especially not at night.
He looked behind him to see if the girl would get in safely. She seemed to be dealing with everything just fine. "Comrade! You are going to be in deep doggie donuts if you stay out there!" he shouted to her. There were more of them filling the streets...

Soma ran in soon after Exile, shutting the door firmly behind her, briefly debating whether or not to lock it before leaving it unlocked. Someone else might want to get in, after all, and she had the feeling the zombies wouldn't be polite enough to knock.
"It isn't usually human zombies," she said, continuing their conversation from outside as she scanned the room. There were zombies in here, too, but they were coming out of the floorboards at a slightly more manageable rate. "There are different monsters--undead cats and dogs mostly, but I've seen large machines and heard reports of spirits as well."
She made a round of the room, somewhat more slowly than usual due to the necessity of having to crush a zombie's head or arms every now and then. Here was a cabinet of some sort, securely locked--an armory of some sort, perhaps? It had to contain something important.
"Are you any good at picking locks?" she asked abruptly.

Before she could ask what was much quicker, he glared at the lock and a stream of red light came from his eyes and landed on the metal, which began to smoke and sizzle. He frowned. Usually it went faster. But it was melting. He didn't break concentration, because he wanted this to go as quickly as possible.

A man with laser eyes. This was ridiculous. It was like something out of an old movie. Shinigami healing arts had been one thing, but this...well, it was almost corny. Still, she kept quiet--partly out of shock, and partly out of the notion that if he turned around to respond, he might melt her face off.
Instead, she set about fending off the zombies that had begun to congregate around the two of them. They were relatively slow-moving, and she could have avoided most of the blows even with her reflexes dampened. Still, the fact that she also had to keep the man behind her in mind hindered her movements somewhat. She only hoped he would hurry.

Well... this was... worrisome. Xigbar could hear sounds coming from the sheriff's office, and normally he'd be up for a tussle, but without some weaponry of his own... yeah, not looking forward to it. Especially not when he had a dude with him who was clearly the worst for wear.
That was why the Nobody stopped right outside the door, peering in through the windows with a frown. "Huh... looks like things are just as happening in there as out here. That's no good."

...what he really wanted to know, though, was why the zombies went after ZEX and not after himself. Or at least, they only went after the Nobody as an incidental thing, on the way to ZEX or if they were interrupted by him or something. Seemed awful fishy to him, and the scientist part of him wanted to know why. Was it because he didn't have a beating heart? Were they like Heartless and sniffed dudes out because of their emotions? Or was there just plain more meat on ZEX's bones and that's why they were trying to nibble on him?
Regardless, the only person who'd get to nibble on ZEX was Xigbar and Zelnick and possibly a wide list of creatures, so he abruptly grabbed ZEX into a hug and grinned at him. "Safe? Comin' ( ... )

ZEX was too startled to say much of anything when Xigbar grabbed him, instead making a kind of stuttering gasp, and then things shifted in a way that felt reminiscient of jumping into Hyperspace. He certainly hadn't expected anything like that, and he clung onto Xigbar for dear life.
A few moments of quick breathing when it was over, and he didn't seem to be dissolving or turning inside out, or experiencing any of the other horrific symptoms he'd heard about when one didn't jump into Hyperspace correctly. He was, however, conveniently in Xigbar's arms, and at the moment he didn't see any reason to leave them ( ... )

Well, they were here. The creatures were still around, but it seemed that this place had been a favored haunt for the patients as well. The place was littered with dead bodies, one larger than the rest, and it seemed that the place had been mostly ransacked already. Put it to the patients of a mental institute to hit the place with the most guns. Franziska despised guns, and yet here she was helping a man get one.
There were still a few of the shamblers in here and a few more were following them in. If Harvey really thought the guns were going to help, he needed to grab it and fast. And hopefully before the pain in her back caught up with her brain. Arcing her whip around, she snapped one of the creatures in the eye, then headed for a desk, grabbing a heavy paperweight and lobbing it at the thing's head. "I suggest you find what you want and we leave, Harvey Dent!"
