[ from here ]Shion continued to move down the hall, her eyes peering around at every corner she could see. Sadly, she was yet to see these so called “monsters”, but she knew that could always happen later, too

Renamon did not realize how dark the halls were. She assumed some light would be left on, security lights, or something of that design. She was glad that she decided to bring the flashlight, even though she only turned it on in quick bursts. She slid along the wall, senses alert. She didn't know what to expect in this place. Hopefully, she would remedy that.
She must have slept through the entire rush because there were usually people lingering about well into the night. She held her flashlight with both hands, moving the beam back and forth in front of her regularly. This was one of the safer hallways but it felt a lot safer when things weren't so quiet and empty and dark.
River wasn't running today. Her legs weren't at their best, rotting and bleeding away like she'd been dead for dies. Instead, she continued on carefully, not wanting the rust to be cause for her to place her steps incorrectly and fall into the pit beneath the tightrope.
It was dark here, just like the other hall, but Esmeralda kept her head up. So far there was nothing. She quietly tip-toed down the hallway as quickly as she could (which, for a gypsy who was on the run all the time and regularly used stealth and wits to get away, was pretty fast), watching out for any signs of trouble.
The only way out was up ahead, from what she could see in the shadows...
Lia managed not to stumble over her own feet as the wall she'd been following ended abruptly. She picked her way across the hallway, turning towards the door she knew was not far ahead. Despite her efforts to stay calm, she could feel her pulse racing. When the Blood said they revered the darkness, this was not what they meant.
She paused in her travels long enough to take several deep breaths. They did little enough to calm her nerves, but she forced herself to pretend otherwise. Tomorrow, she assured herself, she would ask someone about portable light sources, as there seemed to be no stationary ones still functional. Once certain she was unlikely to hyperventilate, she continued onward.
