If he had still been as infuriated as he had been when first leaving his room, he probably would have done that immediately. Right now, there was a slight delay. Maybe it was just an after effect of...

"Okay so we need to--Oh...." Ippo took a slow full circle. This didn't look right. His flashlight hit a corridor close by, but the placement seemed wrong. He remembered it being further down to his left. Did they go up a different staircase?
Shit.
"Uhhh..." Okay, keep it together! He was the navigator here. The boxer couldn't let the other man know he was now completely and utterly lost.
"I think it's--I mean, it's down... that way..." he pointed to the right, hoping against hope he was right and not simply leading them both into certain death. He would feel like a real ass.

Still, Ippo's uncertainty didn't exactly leave Woody with much confidence. When he finally settled on a direction, Woody leaned his weight against the clothes rod and fixed him with a skeptical expression.
"You don't have any idea where you're going, do you," he finally deadpanned.

"I do! I do know where I'm going! I was here--th-there! But some of us had been a little preoccupied with... o-other things than mapping the layout of every hallway!" The last of his words echoed down the hallway. It wasn't often the timid boxer lost his cool, but with his current upheaval from everything he knew and enjoyed, practically starved on lackluster gruel--And don't even get him started on his problems with Miyata!
He was frail and on edge. The boxer couldn't couldn't help himself! He finally understood how Takamura felt when he started weight loss.
"It's here, we... We just have to do a little looking, that's all..." He was too embarrassed to give an apology, but Ippo hoped his quiet suggestion was evidence enough of his regret for losing his self-control.

This area had a few more patients than the hallway he'd just left behind, which was a good thing. Some of their flashlight beams pooled around the walls, allowing Claude to zero in on the mysterious figure with a little more ease. He quickly caught a glimpse of him heading around the corner, as if he were oblivious to Claude's shouting.
Just what the hell was going on?
He needed to find out. There was a chance this was a trap, but Claude felt confident enough with his new-found powers. If he could just verify what he was seeing, then he could head straight back to Guy, Okita and the others. Growing more determined, he quickened his pace and followed after.

The second floor looked pretty much the same as the first with a similar amount of traffic. What was up here? The prisoners were never taken here during the day that Zero knew of, nor was the floor's purpose ever explained to him by any of the staff. He paused to take in his surroundings briefly, then looked over at Ema again to make sure she was following along without too much trouble.
...and then the intercom activated much like the radio had earlier - very unexpectedly. Like before, the once-Reploid went on alert, and then relaxed slightly as he listened carefully to what was being said. A traitor...was that the man who just spoke over the radio, Marc? The mention of the two prisoners who refused to talk, plus whatever the mysterious 'consequences' were, was worrisome as well. Worse yet, the man over the intercom (it was Aguilar, wasn't it?) expected the prisoners to betray a comrade in exchange for some hefty reward. A sick but unsurprising tactic to pull. Hopefully none of the prisoners would fall for it ( ... )

They reached the top hall when the intercom opened up its frequency for the second time that night. Apparently the captors were facing a bit of a vermin problem within their midst. Aigis felt a burning anger at the very suggestion that anyone would try to supply this horrible place with information, but she managed to keep the disgust off her face. There were more important things to attend to. Like getting the girl with pink hair to the morgue to check on her friend's remains. It was a heavy thought, but one that only served to make Aigis all the more determined to make sure she got there without any troubles.

She gave the intercom only a moment's pause before continuing. On any other night, she might have thought to at least look into the information, especially if it meant finding the man who'd overseen the death and blood on the coliseum floor. Sakura set her jaw firmly and headed further down the hallway in front of them.
