Night 58: Intercom, Late Night

Sep 15, 2011 14:00

The intercom clicked on with a string of distorted, unintelligible words. It droned on until clarity kicked in, pulling instead a more familiar voice. The General sounded irate this evening, for reasons that seemed obscure to most, apparent to some.

"Setting aside our little set of rogues, it seems we have a traitor in our midst. And I, for one, would have expected a name, but it seems two of you cannot bring yourselves to give it," he growled. "You refuse our conditions? We have no choice but to carry out the consequences."

Here, he calmed, exhaling slowly, allowing the rage to evaporate. "The first is unavoidable, but for the second...I might overlook your mistake if you act now." A pause. "Anyone with information on the identity of the rogue soldier will be heard. Any findings may be reported to Major Harrington in the chapel on the second floor. If your information leads to the capture of this soldier, we will reward you handsomely.

"Don't force our hand."

The intercom clicked off.
