[From here.]He hesitated again, doing the same visual check as they moved into a new corridor, then added, "Aguilar brags about not drugging us, but he tampered with dinner Thursday night in a way that I don't believe Landel ever has. Now this. Even if he presents it as voluntary this time, some people will find the offer of a weapon too tempting to resist, particularly if they don't have to look for it themselves or fight something to get it. They'll see it as the best of a bad lot of choices, or at least a potentially fair trade. Maybe it's intended as a test of a certain kind of bravery. Still... the smart thing would be to decline to participate

That was something he hadn't considered, admittedly- that the effects were designed to take effect only after leaving the medical wing. It would have been highly disruptive for there to be patients collapsing or worse in the halls, not only in the sense that it would be impractical but it would also doubtless put off any other curious patients in the area. God forbid anything spoil the General's efficiency
