Retracing her steps out to the main hallway that she'd been escorted down a short while earlier, it wasn't long before Rose came out into the large hallway that seemed to run the length of the building. She paused here, glancing to either side for a moment as she pointed her flashlight in either direction, trying to get her bearings. The voice over the intercom had said the medical wing was on the east side of the building, which meant off to her left.
Shining her flashlight in that direction momentarily illuminated a familiar face, and she quickly lowered her flashlight so she wouldn't blind him.
"Zack?"

While he could have ignored it, he just wasn't that type of person. He could imagine Sephiroth -- before Nibelheim, that is -- doing such a thing, but he was Zack and even if he'd already made plans for the night, he wasn't going to brush off someone who was talking to him.
So he turned her, clutching his short sword in his right hand and the flashlight in his left. "Rose," he greeted. He remembered how he'd almost asked her to come along when they'd spoken before, how he'd told her that she should make sure to travel with someone at night. It looked like she hadn't listened. Not that he could judge, considering what he was doing.
This might be as simple as exchanging pleasantries and then heading their separate ways, and it might not. "Where were you headed?" The answer to that question would probably decide which it was.

At his question, she grinned a bit, pointing her finger upwards. "It sounded like an interesting challenge they gave us tonight," Rose admitted, lifting her shoulders in a slight shrug. "I thought I'd check it out. Since I planned on exploring anyways, I thought I might as well start there. Sounded like it was something different. I take it they don't do things like this every night?"

It was pointless to think of what they might have done to him. It would be a pointless waste of emotional resources. As he'd argued with the woman earlier today, getting angry did nothing to make you more effective and tended to cloud your vision. He hadn't let himself feel grief or rage at Byrne's death the first time around, or at Cece's before that. Shedding a few dramatic tears wouldn't bring about justice any faster.
But his knuckles were white around the handle of his papercutter as he stalked down the institute's dark main hallway. The west wing of the institute had been a giant 'here be dragons' on the map, but if this place was masquerading as a hospital a medical wing would be a good cover for horrific tortuous experimentation.
He'd get there first. Then he'd figure out what a single man with a paper cutter blade was going to do against hordes of armed guards.

She'd beaten Son Goku to the rendezvous point.
She liked the waiting almost as little as she liked fighting her fellow prisoners. Though last night hadn't been too bad; Rita's disappointment once they'd gotten through had been worse, and Taura winced.
One of these days, she'd get everything right. Maybe even tonight. She prowled the hall along with several other folks who'd chosen a slightly-less crowded meeting point. All of them looked ready for a fight, if need be, but none of them were heading into the Sun Room.
She waved to Zack, the only one she knew. He was darting glances down the hall, and a man she'd never seen before was checking a map. Ambitious, was he?

Taura grinned and jogged after the little boy into the sun room. She hadn't seen anyone brave it yet, but someone had to be first. The boy didn't come flying back out as she was going in, which was a good sign.

While this hall was usually somewhat crowded, Castiel took note of the fact that everyone here seemed to be on their own. Some were moving forward without delay, others looking at maps, others waiting for their companions to join them. Still, this seemed like a sign that he had picked the right direction.
There was no sound of stirring from the Sun Room at the moment, which meant that Castiel moved right past it. He was always cautious, especially as there was a chance that the area he was moving toward might be guarded. It would make little sense to put an obstacle between the patients and the very thing that they were supposed to test, but Castiel hadn't found that the people in charge here were very logical.
Sparing a quick glance toward the door that led into that Entry Room, Castiel focused on continuing down the hall.
[For Donna.]

"These are not the dummies you're looking for..." Donna drawled to herself as she walked through the next hallway, looking over the patients. There was no sign of the Doctor and his coat, though she had spotted someone wearing a coat sort of in the same way as her spaceman. That alone drew her attention to the guy, but more than that was, unlike others, he seemed to have a bit more focus about where he was heading.
Since he wasn't a little girl, didn't seem to have a babyface by what she could tell in the dark hallway light, and appeared to be heading her way, Donna had the feeling he might make decent company. That was, if he head going where she was.
She sped up her walk just enough to match the man's larger strides and, giving a casual look over at him, gave a smirk. "Heading for the Med Wing too?"

Which made him wonder: what had Gabriel been wearing when he had been under the institute's spell?
Not that it mattered at this point. The fact that the woman wasn't contained to one room and seemed to be just as interested in the newly opened area made it clear that she wasn't a threat. He nodded in response, wondering where this might lead. "I am, yes. The risk offered is great, but it could be worth the result."

Goku was thankful that he decided to bypass the herd of patients that clogged up the hallway further down. So many people in one spot--with nerves racing to boot!--did terrible things to his sense of smell. It was just too overwhelming an odor. In fact, it drowned out the smell of the kitchen, but he knew once he got away from the majority of the patients that his sense of smell would pick it back up easily. There would be no stopping him tonight, people or monsters! He was on a mission to fight! And possibly grab a few apples on the way... Ohh, yeah, apples sounded so good, the young boy was literally drooling on the floor.
"Alright!" Smacking his cheeks with stubby hands, Goku steeled himself before crossing from the hall into the dimly Sun Room. He suspected a good fight was right around the corner. So, with pseudo staff poised, Goku ran in.
