Mao felt a cold chill.
It was an interesting sort of feeling, the tiny hairs on the back of his neck shot up suddenly. Dramatically, it was almost as if the wind had stop, the sounds of clattering and the every day mill of others going about their business as he read comic books, played his games, and terrified Almaz (all a part of his daily dose of evil) suddenly disappeared. If this was a horror movie, he'd certainly be hearing a quickening music, or perhaps just an even deader silence than the one he was experiencing now.

He paused. Half-flipped his comic book page, (Today, it was one about a woman in spandex, from a secret island somewhere in this world, who had a lasso of truth. Truth? Really? That was stupid, he thought! There could be worse things!) he looked up. His ears perked, twitched, and settled.

It must have been his imagination.

Mao diverted his eyes back to his comic book, unaware of the approaching and impending danger that awaited him.

It was easy for her to spot the boy as soon as she had left Madison Square Garden. She remembered he had requested red and had gotten into a long discussion with Balthier about something concerning super ranger shows and the color gold. She was pleased to see that from a distance the red of Mao's cape would go well with the scarf she had made and so with a bright smile practically danced over to him, "Hello," she paused as she noticed he was reading a book, "oh my I hope I'm not interrupting but I brought you a surprise."

Without pause she pulled out the red scarf she had made for him.

The sudden hello caused him to crumple his pages slightly, he knew he had sensed something! He wasn't it to be someone with a princess title. The way she swayed and danced, it was so odd. Weird. It reminded him of the power of a crush, something humans (and perhaps demons) possessed in order to gain power.

He frowned at her. Pouted, even!

"You..." he scooted back slightly, Giselle was too friendly for his taste, "What's this? A trap? A strangulation device?"

Whatever it was, it sort of - maybe - slightly piqued his interest.

Giselle was surprised by his frown, had she done something wrong? Oh, maybe he was mad that she had interrupted his book. He seemed scared and Giselle's smile softened thinking that he was shy, even if his voice suggested otherwise. She tilted her head to the side at his accusations, "A trap? No, it's a scarf...though I suppose if that's what you call them where you're from that's fine too."

She offered the finely knit red scarf to him, "I made it so you wouldn't get cold this winter."

All this time and still no sign of his partner. Apparently she really was gone. He could only hope she'd disappeared back to their world and not into the belly of the beast.

Come now, she's better than that, he chastised himself, shaking his head. The former was likely the way of it. Still, idleness bred less-than-wanted thoughts, and Balthier had been more idle than he would have liked to admit as of yet. He had gone out once, true, and met a young woman, but his inability to find his partner had put a downer on his spirits somewhat (yet another fact he was loathe to admit).

He still needed to drop by the ruins of his old apartment sometime. Anything to get him moving again.

Giselle really was lucky that unlike last time most people were in one place. She recognized Balthier immediately from the time she had delivered cookies to him, Sara, and Negi. He wasn't with the other two but that didn't matter much though she would love to see them as well.

"Oh Balthier," she called, crossing over to him as she pulled out the golden yellow scarf...she'd even been able to find some yarn that sparkled a bit in the sun...she hoped Balthier would like it.

Balthier looked over as he heard his name and looked over, a slight smile (quickly hidden by his usual smirk) appearing on his face as he caught sight of the scarf the redhead had pulled out. Gold. So that was what she had been planning.

He couldn't exactly say he was one for them, but he supposed it would be better than running around with no insulation (save for his regular mode of dress) in the cold. Hm... he should try and find a coat, now that he thought on it.

The sky pirate stood and walked over to Giselle, taking the scarf in hand. It was finely made, he was surprised to see, especially considering the woman was giving it away for free. If that was the case. "Would this happen to be mine or is this just a case of show-and-tell?" he asked.

Giselle's smile brightened, "Of course it's yours...it's a gift I made you." She could never imagine someone paying her to do this...this was something she had done to see the happy faces of the others as they saw there was still good in this place despite the hardships. "You like it don't you," she asked, she had only seen his smile for a quick second though his smirk was just as much a look of approval in her book.

Elphaba sat in a chair near the floor of the large building. She'd never seen seats like this, except in a theater, and that wasn't a stage. A wry grimace on her face, she eyed the broom in her good hand. Well, if she couldn't fly on it, at least she could hit parasite crabs with it if she had the misfortune to encounter any. The doctor may've insulted her, and if the pain weren't so bad, she would have lost her temper more than once, but her arm was the shape an arm should be again, and encased in a hard substance to keep it that way.

She leaned her head back, closing her eyes. The relief over the fact that spells weren't permanent here was starting to seep in now that the sharp excruciating pain in her arm was subsiding to a dull ache... although that may've partly been due to those pills they'd found for her...

Elphaba'd just have to make sure to fly close to the ground until she figured out whether there was a set time before her spells' effects wore off.

As Giselle hurried past on her quest she caught a flash of green and paused because it had been unexpected. When she looked over she had to hold back a gasp of surprise...after all she'd never seen a green person before. Oh but she had a beautiful complexion aside from that, Giselle realized upon closer inspection ( ... )

Elphaba was roused from her contemplation by a voice and opened her eyes to see a girl every bit as beautiful as Glinda approaching her. She pursed her lips, slightly puzzled, as the woman introduced herself. Elphaba recognized the name; she'd talked with Giselle a couple of times over the "computers ( ... )

"You're welcome," she chirped in a cheery voice.

"I hope it's to your liking," Giselle went on to say, apparently misinterpreting the look Elphaba was giving it. "I don't usually use such dark colors but I have to admit they did work well together," Giselle said with a small smile.

Despite the fact that most of the constant healing work was done, the huge court of Madison Square Garden was still crowded with the homeless, including Sora. True, Riku had said that there was a new open hotel waiting for them, and Sora was eager to get over there, but he couldn't quite leave yet. The crab parasites were still causing problems for a lot of people, and food centers hadn't been set up yet for the stuff that Axel and Kairi had found. Plus, part of Sora hoped that Namine would show up before they went to the hotel...he really thought she would've come back by now.

In any case, in his spare time Sora was still milling around the Garden, chatting with anyone he came across if Riku and Kairi weren't present.

"Sora," Giselle called out when she spotted the young man who had been so much help to her over the months, "How are you?" She knew he had been doing SO much more than her around the Garden and so she had added a little something extra to his scarf.

She set the scarf laden bag on the floor in front of her, "I have a present for you," she went on with a smile, "close your eyes."

Sora smiled as Giselle approached, a large closed bag under one arm. The fact that Giselle always seemed to be smiling made Sora feel better, too...it was so nice, even inspirational, having people around there who were cheerful no matter what the circumstances. "I'm doing much better! Kairi and Riku made it back okay. I was really worried about them for awhile, but now they're back and we can find a new place to stay!"

His eyes widened at the mention of a present. "Really?" No matter what the occasion, Sora did love presents...both giving and receiving them. He almost turned to look closer at the bag to get an idea of what said present could be, but finally consented to squeezing his eyes shut.

She laughed lightly, "Yes, really...and I hope you like it." She didn't open the bag until he had closed his eyes and then with a smile she knelt down and dug out Sora's scarf, draping it around his neck. When he opened them he would see that the scarf was a bright sunshine yellow just as he had said his favorite color was...and she had added a little extra something to the scarf: a large bluish silver crown was embroidered on the end of it (much like the crown on the necklace he always wore).

As far as Wolf was concerned, it had been far too long since he'd seen his most succulent true love. And now that Flute had taken care of the crab bite, he didn't have much fear of meeting her...and with the news that lots of new fresh food had been found, he could be on his best behavior, too. All in all, he was looking forward to finally leaving the smells of the shelter behind and settling in someplace new with Giselle...hopefully, for good.

He smelled her approaching from across the lawn, and then waved excitedly. "Oh oh oh oh, Giselle! Here, here!"

Giselle heard Wolf immediately and her face brightened even more, though many would ask how that was even possible for her to smile to GET any brighter. "Wolf!," she cheered, rushing over to him and immediately giving him a hug after she had dropped the bag. "Oh it's so wonderful to see you again! I've been so worried about you because I haven't seen you much," she said as she hugged him tighter, momentarily forgetting about the present she had for him in her bag.

Wolf's face lit up almost as much as Giselle's, if even that was possible. He returned the hug with just as much force, nearly lifting her off her feet. Her scent sent feelings of relief and happiness all the way down to his tail, and it was with a bit of reluctance that he pulled her away just so he could talk to her. "Ohhhh cripes, I was worried enough about you! Soooo glad to see you again! I..." Wolf hesitated, a little reluctant to mention that horrible nightmare with the crab parasites, having Flute heal him, and then nearly getting caught again just in the interests of getting food. He finally just managed a sheepish scratch at his ear. "...I've been all over this place since all that awful badness a few weeks ago!"

She let out a happy laugh as Wolf nearly picked her up off her feet. She stood back listening intently as Wolf assured her he was fine. Giselle was so glad to hear it and didn't seem to notice the sheepish scratch to his ear. She then recalled the bag at her feet and she smiled, "I have a surprise for you Wolf, would you like to guess what it is?"
