I'm going to try and make an appointment with a lactation consultant today. I don't feel like we have thrush, but we do have some mild symptoms. It could all be explained another way, though, and we don't have any of the risk factors for developing thrush (no antibiotic use, no history of yeast infections, no diaper rash, no wet bras or anything.) Whew. Plugging along over here, doing a lot of nursing and redirecting Kaden. After two weeks of fighting non-stop with the Doob, Dan said tonight at dinner that he's okay if Kaden starves. :) Heh! I really don't know what I'm going to do come Monday when I'm suddenly responsible for taking care of these two kids all by myself. I've been saying that the injunction from the doctor to rest for two weeks (no outings, no housework, no Doob care) seems at the same time total overkill and ridiculously inadequate. I'm generally pleased with how clean I've been keeping the house lately. I had a friend come over for lunch today and all that needed to be done was some straightening up, sweeping the kitchen floor, and cleaning the downstairs bathroom. Went to see the doctor this morning. I'm 148 lbs. Eeeep. I was 146 when I gave birth to Kaden, and this is where I'm supposed to put on a pound a week till the birth. I was worried about it, thinking that the doctor would surely mention something and then I'd have to admit my Mickey D addiction, but they said nary a word. So, cool. I haven't started taking my iron supplement yet. I want to hold off as long as I can because I know how crappy they are. If a full dose of my pre-natals, cutting out black tea, and adding eggs and vitamin C to my diet doesn't up my iron levels, then I'll have to take the supplements.
