It speaks!

1. Amused for no particular reason to discover Sydney will be getting its own production of Nick Dear's Frankenstein. I'm not that keen, mainly because I've never heard of any of the cast - not always a bad thing, but I'm not sure the play is enough of a drawcard in and of itself. It looks like a completely new production, including original music ( Read more... )

The Creature will wear a skin coloured loin cloth covering his genitals. This is for a 10 minute scene at the very beginning of the play where he is essentially "born". The female creature will be fully covered in a shroud, but her covering will be slightly see through - this is for her "birth" scene as well, for approx. 3-4 minutes.

Bwahahaha!
Maybe the outcry reached farther than we know of over having BC covered up for the big screen?
Doesn't have a very long run. *side-eyes it*

I do think it's a case of 'THIS IS NOT THE SAME PRODUCTION AS AT THE NATIONAL. DON'T EXPECT IT TO BE.' While on the other hand still using review quotes of the NT production. I will be looking out for reviews with interest :)

AND SO THEY JOLLY WELL SHOULD! Eh, I haz opinions and am spouting them, just like everyone else. I'm not sure it could get so bad that I wouldn't watch, although there's no need for them to test that theory ;P

I like the episodes so far, but there are things that don't make sense to me, either. You can love a thing without liking all of it, kind of like a person, LOL.

Still haven't watched any of the new Red Dwarf series, guess I'll be hunting through catch-up TV on cable to find an episode. These days the thing I like best about the series is how some of the technology & everyday living in the programme is now on the ISS, eg recycling urine into drinking water. Just so long as they don't try & invent the Holly Hop drive up there :)

LOL, that's very cool about the ISS - I haven't been following developments, but it's nice to know it's still going up there!

Still going strong! Another Soyuz docking today, three new crewmembers. Weekend sees the beginning of the end for the first fullscale (ie not a test flight) Dragon cargo mission as it undocks & heads for an Earth landing. ISS isn't receiving shuttles any more but it's very busy up there!

I mean, I've seen warnings for nudity before; but this may be the first time I've seen warnings for...potentially unexpected covering. Surprise!

Interesting! Kind of weird, though. I don’t know if this is true or not, but I recently read that Australia has become more conservative when it comes to censorship of content that might be considered offensive-maybe it has to do with that?

Thanks very much for your thoughts on Parade’s End, both series and novels. I don’t know if I’ll ever get the time to read them, so it’s really interesting to see where they differ and where they’re the same.

Elementary has this weird quality for me: I’m not really loving it or anything, but I do look forward to it each week. I think it would be a very amusing comedy! :) And I’m going to watch them no matter what, but I don’t think I’d be watching it anymore if it weren’t, you know, Holmes and Watson. But it has definitely improved since the pilot, in my opinion, and become…warmer, almost? The pilot seemed kind of coldly mechanical to me, but the ( ... )

It was just a very odd way of phrasing a warning, I thought (not that it was actually listed as a warning, but it sounds like one). Normally it'd be like: partial nudity (if that). Which makes me think it's a backhand reference to the NT production. I do think Australia has become more conservative in recent times, but nudity has never rated very high on our 'offense' list, so. It's more the phrasing that's odd ( ... )
