After months of almost no problems, my CRX's engine started sounding and acting oddly the last few days, and on the way to work today, a part (catalytic converter?) partially fell off and started dragging on the road. Put tracking labels on the first hundred books. Not too terrible. It also gave me a chance to more closely inspect them. Minor nits here and there, most of which only I would notice. Out of the first hundred, I only had to out-rightly reject one, for missing four pages. (1%, I can live with; I had nightmares of rates closer to 100% unusable ( Read more... )

The CRX failed to start once today, the first time since I (thought) I had it fixed.

Well, it finally happened. My CRX refused to start this morning, and I had to take a $60 taxi to get to work. A coworker took me home tonight. Cat Lady's been handling all the logistics: the taxi, the tow to the garage, the garage, and the rental car for tomorrow. The CRX started right up this morning. Now what? Will it continue to do so?

It's snowing.

I got almost no sleep, and had to get up at 8 to try to start the car. If it didn't start, there was towing and mechanic'ing to be arranged.

Cat Lady's foot is swelling oddly. We've been using ice and elevation, and there's been some improvement, but still, not good. She's gonna see the doctor tomorrow. She's been googling, and there's a concern that there's some sort of twisted interaction between her foot (which was healing great up until now) and the medication issued after her ( Read more... )

After spending $366 to (finally) fix the A/C on my CRX, they had me come back the next week to fix the rat's nest of home-spun wiring "crafted" by the prior owner.
