Yesterday was five years since Cat Lady quit smoking, (after two packs a day for half a century). We went out to celebrate.

When I had been wearing contact lenses, I had used reading glasses for the computer screen, but I haven't worn the lenses for a few months now. I finally got myself a second pair of glasses for the computer, and it's been an adjustment learning how to go back and forth. My daughter Sara has (apparently) been settling into her new job and home in Los Alamos, NM. She's also gotten back into blogging, and her writing is quite good, if I may kvellCat Lady and I went to play bingo last night. It was the first time I ever played. We just got back from getting her out of ER. It didn't help that I had gotten stuck at my day-job for over an hour past my nominal departure time. She had apparently been driving everyone at the ER bonkers as she worried about this, even though under normal circumstances she knows to simply trust that almost all late departures are entirely due ( Read more... )

Cat Lady asked for an ambulance to take her to the ER. I just got back from there. She'll be ok.

Cat Lady's not having a very good night, and so, neither am I.

Cat Lady is starting to recover, mostly by sleeping through the painkillers. The pills are distorting her perception of time, though.

After way too much back-and-forth (dare I say "nitpicking"?) with oDesk over the past week about the "quality" of my profile with them, they've finally approved it for public consumption so I can start pursuing ( Read more... )
