A very small dog followed Hamlet & Tulip and I home on our walk tonight. He's got a collar, but no tags. I'm pretty sure he's still a puppy. Right now he's camped out in Hamlet's crate with a bowl of water, a chew toy and some snacks. Some of you may recall when my friend herpdaddy came over and took photos of Tulip for us. I got him to do an encore earlier this week, just in time for the third anniversary of Tulip coming to live with us.

Today Hamlet turned 1. He got a ceremonial hamburger (specifically, a Whopper Jr with ketchup). Tulip got one too. Despite the relative disparity in their sizes, they both finished their burger in the same amount of time. Go figure.

Tulip caught a bird tonight on our walk. Well, maybe caught isn't the right word. We were walking alone when I saw what appeared to be a dead bird on the grass by the sidewalk. I quickly moved to rein in Tulip before she could nab it, but she managed to stretch out and pick it up, at which point it stopped playing dead and started struggling madly ( Read more... )

Hamlet being a very small dog, the longest he can be in the crate is about 6-7 hours. If we go to bed around midnight-12:30, this means he has to be let outside in the area of 7:15-7:30. I don't like getting up that early, but it beats giving him a bath and washing out the crate every morning ( Read more... )

So we've had Hamlet for about nearly four weeks now and things are slowly starting to fall into a routine. After many months of searching, xhollydayx found the elusive second dog that she desired. As a direct result, an almost five month old (born 2/17) pug puppy is currently in our house.
