I, for one, welcome our new fuzzy overlord.

xhollydayx brought home our new dog from the pound. She's about nine months old, weighs 45 pounds and appears to be a boxer/husky mix. She's in good shape, but appears to have several small burns on her back. We've no idea if that was an accident or something someone did intentionally, but they seem to be pretty much healed up and she doesn't act like a dog that's been abused.

Several names were bandied around. Before we picked her up xhollydayx wanted to call her new dog Buckley, but she decided that wasn't a good name for a girl. I voted for Iggy in honor of Iggy "Now I Wanna Be Your Dog" Pop, but that was vetoed. Morganna was suggested by onabus, since the dog will happily kiss you with even the slightest encouragement. Penelope, Ulla and Nemo also were considered, but then I suggested Tulip, as in Tulip O'Hare. xhollydayx decided that was a winner, so Tulip she is :-)

So far she's been very well behaved - no barking except when playing, doesn't get into stuff and is very friendly. Not unsurprisingly, she sticks her nose in everything, but she always moves it when she's told to. Overall, a very mellow dog thus far.

I am magnificent.

Don't interrupt me during my belly rub.

Look, I see something over there.

I will destroy the evil rope.

Destroying the evil rope was very tiring. Nap time!

You may now make the obligatory oohing and awwing noises.

PS. The Fuzzy Overlords would be a great band name. You could have album titles like "The Fuzzy Overlords Get Shaved" and "Razorburn: The Fuzzy Overlords Live!" I'm just saying.
