My hair makes babies cry

I'm fixing to start college in a few months, and I'm looking for a way to keep my curl, and still have an easy, manageable hairstyle/regime/whatever. Unfortunately, my hair is the kind that you wear sunglasses around because the glare from the ammount of frizz could permanantly blind you. Although I'm white, I buy Pantene Pro-V conditioner for women of color, and that's what I use in the shower. No shampoo! It's worked really well for cutting out frizz :o)

Oooo a fellow curly haired flute player!! Wearing a jack sparrow shirt no less...nice :D. Anyway, I think you've gotten some really good advice so far...so I'll just sum up something, what has worked really well for me was running a dollop of conditioner through my hair after a shower when it's still soaking wet, not rinsing it out, and wrapping it in a towel for a bit. Good luck with your hair and with college!

1) No-poo, I agree. Check out the book:
http://www.amazon.com/Curly-Girl-Lorraine-Massey/dp/0761123008/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1213213827&sr=1-1

2) Look in to hair products for women of color, I agree. Just make sure it's for curly, not relaxed hair (I use the Motions brand).

3) The best thing you can do for your hair is to get a great hair cut. Do some research on curly cutters in your area (naturallycurly.com is a great place to check for that). Give it to your self as a gift, as it will be $$$. But it is worth it, and you can go to a cheaper place for more regular maintenance.

Your hair is very similar to mine, so I recommend having long layers cut into it (layers will bring the curl out), and don't ever brush it, just wash, condition, apply product, and let it air-dry naturally. You could also try using a diffuser to dry it and applying a little silicone-based anti frizz serum afterwards.
