Cia was working outside on her steps, a sketchpad on her knee. She saw the glowing form run past, and tilted her head, looking after it. It looke like a Patronus--Sirius had shown her one. But he said they were only used against some scary sounding things---dementeds and lethifulls, or some weird shit like that.
She got up and started walking. Not following it, but going in the other direction, looking for whoever cast it. It wasn't Sirius' patronus, but it could've been Remus' or Barty's.
Instead, she found a boy. Well...not really. He was probably 2 or 3 years older than she was. 'Hello...' she said. 'Did you cast that?'
James looked up at the girl that just walked up to him. He wasn't usually one to notice girls, but she was quite unusual. In that interesting, he definitely wanted to know more about her kind of way. He stood up quickly and brushed off his clothes, having been raised a gentleman to the core. He smiled a little.
"That patronus? Yeah, I did that. Looking for my grandfather. He's supposed to be meeting me here. Have you seen him? He's about...this tall?" He raised his hand to a couple of inches above his own head.
"Very ginger. Bit over weight, but mum says he's always been big, even when he wasn't really fat." He chuckled softly.
James smiled a little at the mention of other wizards and then the smile faded quickly.
"Wait....you've talked to..." He scratched the back of his neck. That couldn't be possible.
"Are you talking about Sirius Black and Remus Lupin?" His parents had told him all about both men. His father always talked of them so fondly, as if they were surrogate fathers to him. But they were both dead. Weren't they?
Cia smiled, ducking her head, her long unnaturally red hair covering her face and hiding the blush.
'You can stay long as you like,' she said. 'Like I said--plenty of room. Though may hafta put up a curtain or somethin' cos there's only one bedroom.' Not that that was a big deal.
'Also, I'm gonna try, but might need one of you to conjure a bed. I'm probably not quite that good,' she said smirking.
James blushed a bit himself. "I can do that. S'one of the things I'm actually good at. And I can conjure up a screen, too. That way we have some privacy." Though he wasn't sure he really wanted that.
James smuiled a bit and cleared his throat. "Of course. Gotta learn how to do it proper. Though you might already know." He scratched the back of his neck and looked at Sirius, then at Cia.
"Would you mind giving us a minute? I need to ask something.....personal." He blushed slightly.
James cleared his throat and shifted a little on the couch. "I'm acting like a big baby, crying over my mum." He laughed a little and wiped at his eyes.
"It's just.....strange, knowing that I won't wake up to her making me breakfast tomorrow morning. Won't have a sit down with Dad before he goes off to work." He sighed.
"That's.....bizarre among other things." He tilted his head. "So if I say....I want some tea and raspberry scones...." He raised an eyebrow as he looked at her.

She tipped her head thinking. 'Sirius or Remus might know your grandfather. I know I've heard Sirius mention an Arthur.'

"No thank you. But...do we have to go to bed right away? Maybe we could talk for a bit?" He smiled softly.

"In a way you're kind of lucky. Not having anybody to miss." He sighed. "Part of me wishes they were here but part of me doesn't."
