I have warmed to him a bit okay? Haha. When he's not being a total dickhead he is actually a great character. But shitting in someone's bed and wiping with their PJs? If anybody belongs in a mental institution it's Nathan. Who the fuck does that? Seriously?
Yes, crushing very hard. He's five years younger than me and it makes me feel old, haha. But I don't give a frak.
I'm glad you're liking this show. I didn't feel like the writing was incredibly tight in the first season (though there were a few really great episodes, and Nathan's celebration of screw-ups speech still remains on of my favorite moments) but this season has been blowing me away, and a large part of that is the whole future!Simon storyline. The thing I really like about British dramas is that even though having so few episodes in a season can be quite a bummer, it forces them to get where they're going without dragging things out, and most accomplish it quite well.
Kelly is still my favorite and I love that underneath her temper and her roughness she's actually really awesome and nice. I love how she's become so protective of Simon as well.
I knew Iwan was in a musical but I've never stopped to check out some mp3s and see if he can sing. So...downloading. :) Thanks.
I watched it so quickly to be honest that I didn't have time to notice any inconsistencies in the writing. I don't really think I watched it so quickly because I couldn't get enough. I just kind of wanted to get caught up since I knew the current season was going on right now.
You will have to let me know what you think of his song. He reminded me of Martin Mumford when I first heard him. Now that I realize he's not (I didn't watch this show when I first heard his music) I have listened to it a few more times and he's definitely got his own distinct voice. But if I could compare it with anything currently out it would be that.
The Simon/Alisha thing is so unexpected and yet somehow perfect. That story arc, no matter what happens from here on out, will always be flawless in my opinion. They kind of remind me of Tony/Priya in their untouchable perfection. Not a lot of romances are told in a way that makes you root for it entirely and not be at least annoyed or bored by it.
This. It encapsulates my feeling about them. Yeah.
That and I have never seen this much overwhelming support for a pairing before. It's really kind of sweet, haha. An actual fandom with actual people in it being united about something as polarizing as a ship.
I've been resisting the temptation to check out Misfits so far because zomg I have too many fandoms already! but the more I see it pop up on my flist, the more tempted I'm getting... (Oh, you know I'll do it eventually, I can't resist an interesting-sounding show, lol! ;) )
Thank you kindly for the song as well (can't ever resist an interesting-sounding song as well, apparently ;) )! And of course, Lost Girl, yay! \o/ I got behind in November because of NaNo but I'm planning on a marathon to catch back by Sunday if I possibly can! :D ♥!
Haha, oh but Ais. The language! A couple of years ago I would have said you should spare yourself, but I think you're ready to handle it now. :D
Definitely check it out. There are not many eps so it should be easy to catch up on. There's 6 in s1 and there's going to be 7 in season two. (There's five so far.)
*makes Kenzi face* Oh noes, not the language! O_O ;) Seriously, though, it still does bug me but I made it through Spartacus: Blood and Sand so I supposed it's not an automatic deal-breaker for me anymore. ;) Thanks, though, for the head's up so I'm not all o_@ *twitch* *ears fall off* at the first ep, lol! ;)
That's also good to know that they don't have that many eps yet. I used to freak out at the idea of a 13 ep season (which Doctor Who does, for example) but now I'm finding that it not only tends to make for much more concise, powerful eps with little filler to them, but it makes it so much less daunting to jump on and not have 40 some eps to catch up on. ;) ♥!
Despite the storylines being more compact, short seasons are still a peeve of mine. I want more. I want more of that character stuff. Sure the plot is advanced more quickly and all but I still want more, haha.
I am trying to figure out what spoilers for 2.05 I have up there and really there are none. Except that I liked Nathan in the ep, which isn't really much of a spoiler, lol. So if you do want to do more than skim the entry you're pretty safe from 2.05 spoilers

Yes, I read the post again after my comment. No spoilers for 2x05! Yay. :-)
I'm so excited to be able to talk about Misfits to someone. It's a show that doesn't inspire me to produce anything, but does inspire me to discuss it!
I think Nathan is cringeworthy but then he doesn't cringe, you know? Kelly said in the last episode I watched, "You're not embarrassed by anything, are you?" And he's not. I kinda like that he's so out there with everything. He wasn't embarrassed at all at loving Simon. And he's kind of accepted the powers thing so readily. But there are times he needs to learn when to shut up, though.
I love Kelly. She's kind of a mama figure. But a mama who will cuss you out and kill a probation worker trying to kill you. A hit first, ask questions second kind of woman. I do love that she can punch a man out and it hurts too. And she can take a punch too, like from Video Game man

It is so funny that you mentioned the Terminator. I find the whole paradox of that to be infuriating. So he comes back to save the mother, of the leader of the rebellion against the machines, but while he's saving her, he also knocks her up, and their son, becomes the leader of the rebellion against the machines. If him coming back is what caused this person to come into being and if he hadn't gone back this person wouldn't have existed, then wouldn't this person just never have existed in the first place and he would have never come back in the first place because there would have been no one to save? Gah! It's just.. mind-boggling. It drives me bonkers
