My first open book Latin test took place today. A bad idea: looking up every single word that offers even a small fraction of doubt. There isn't enough time. [sighs]. Especially if one is slow and clumsy (I believe the PC term is 'still learning') with a dictionary.

I do not understand how I could have been such a distasteful writer my freshman year, and not noticed it.
