What Kind of American English Do You Speak?

I miss friends with history.  I miss being in an inner circle of friends, with whom I don't have to worry about being missunderstood, or about confusing them, and with whom I can talk about all things silly or serious, can goof off, can chill out, can watch a movie, can go for a walk, anything.  I miss that.  Friends who know me and who I know.

Ok, I have been tagged and therefore have to list six weird hobbies/things about myself.  I think I'm supposed to list, or rather "tag", three other people, but I think that all the people I stay in touch with through this have already done it.  So oh well.

My room is completely messy.  
My dishes need to be done.
I'm nearly out of clean clothing.
I'm seriously behind in my paper.
I'm also seriously behind in getting my visa for this summer.
But it will all get taken care of somehow.  God's good that way.

   Oh the untainted goodness of a plain rich scone.  There is nothing like the unadulterated taste that lingers on your tongue, accompanied by a good cup of tea.  And oh, the sense of tea washing down your throat, coursing into your veins, and bringing with it the heavenly calm, the peaceful energy that is unique to tea.  There is no harsh jolt ( Read more... )

I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel!  Mind you, it's a perilous journey from here to the end of undergraduate academia, but by the end of the year, it will all be over!  I may have suffered casualties and show the scars for a long time hence, but I through God's grace I will have conquered!

Yay for snow!   It has been green-ish brown and wet here since I got back from Christmas break, but finally it's snowing!  And I am happy. 

I hate writing papers.  I really despise it.  Especially when you're so tired that all you do is sit and stare at your computer screen for hours on end until you realize that it's 6 AM and you need to go to bed now if you want to retain any hope of functioning later in the day.  So you fall asleep and end up missing all your morning classes, but ( Read more... )

I just found out that noodles I'm eating contain voer 1,200 mg of sodium!  Yikes!  However, the desperation of hunger and the lack of motivation or time to do anything with the pancake and bread mixes in my cupboard leaves me with no other recourse than to eat of this carbohydrated salt mine.  I'll just drink more water.  Lots more water.
