Ode to Tea Time
Oh the untainted goodness of a plain rich scone. There is nothing like the unadulterated taste that lingers on your tongue, accompanied by a good cup of tea. And oh, the sense of tea washing down your throat, coursing into your veins, and bringing with it the heavenly calm, the peaceful energy that is unique to tea. There is no harsh jolt such as is found in coffee, there is only that which is smooth and soothing. Tea is luxurious without being ostentatious. It is universal, enjoyed by poor and rich alike. And is therefore the perfect companion to scones.
