Ah, look it's Christmas in Mayfield. Isn't that just lovely? All the snow and lights, just like a perfect picture. A time for family and friends. I like Christmas, it's a nice human holiday, all about peace and joy and goodwill to everyone.

However, Christmas is a time when everyone needs to be on the look out for danger. Why? Because things ( Read more... )

I've never celebrated Christmas before. But it sounds like a terribly busy holiday. Things being destroyed and gifts being given.

[is she teasing him? just a little.] I'd like flowers, I suppose. I don't really need much...

Well, it's supposed to be just gift giving and lights. Things being destroyed is not how it's supposed to go.

Flowers? Well, I'm sure I can manage that.

Yeah, last year they turned us into kids and then they sent us to the future, only more horrible, and everything nearly blew up.

But maybe this year something better will happen, like all that stuff you just said!

I knew things would be horrible at Christmas here. All of that sounds horrible.

But no, all those things nearly ended with the world being blown up. I'd like to avoid that, personally.

Just nearly!

What's a Cyberking? I wanna see one!

It's a giant Cyberman, a sort of robot... race... thing. Anyway, it's 20 stories tall, nasty and out to destroy London, but not too difficult to take care of in the end.

Oh, I'm sure he'll pop up again. My enemies tend to do that, even after I defeat them.

No, see...

All of that would make Christmas better.

No, see, you're wrong. Death is always a bad option.

Yeah but see you stopped it, right? So there's no foul.

Yes, but I'm a bit more limited here. A lot more the deck is stacked against me than usual.

I've saved the world loads of times, but that one I can't quite recall. Besides, I tend to operate more around London at Christmas.

I'm pretty sure I sound like myself, mostly.

A space replica of the Titanic...

Yes. Well, you see these aliens knew of the Titanic as the Earth's most famous cruise vessel, so they thought fit to name their space cruise ship after it. Obviously they missed why it's so famous.

...Right, timelines, I keep forgetting.

The Titanic was a large cruise ship meant to sale from London to New York in 1912, and because it was so large and expensive, it was said to be unsinkable. And then they hit an iceberg and the ship sank and thousands died.
