hide and seek? how can xiaoyu resist storming_flower November 2 2009, 16:04:11 UTC
She was easily hidden behind the men standing in front of her.

Xiaoyu pouted at her bad luck, having arrived a bit late as she came from her own canceled training session due to the second brigade Ace General's absence. She had decided to sneak on over to the first brigade's training, hoping that Snake's previous offer still stood- she had heard the news about his zombie attack after all, and wasn't sure if he was up to handling more than his required quota. Raising herself onto her toes, Xiaoyu craned her neck high to get a glimpse of the speaker, who she assumed to be Snake- despite having communicated with him several times, she had yet to actually meet then man.

Xiaoyu's almond eyes lit up when the general announced the game, her hands coming together to clap excitedly- she ignored the odd looks the other soldiers gave her, too pleased at the choice of training exercise to care. Combined with her agility and her small statue, this was her element! She had been a pro at hide and seek when she was younger, after all ( ... )

Eve was early as well but found herself training in her regular fashion. The fog was an irritable thing and served to be a useful hindrance at the best. Then again, she wasn't one to complain about something so petty. By the time she reached the meeting place Jack had just begun speaking. Well, it wasn't as if she was late so there was nothing to worry about. Usually she would have been punctual but she had been caught up in her own business.

So, this was all just a game with partners. No, she didn't like this at all. It felt like one of those let's get to know each other exercises and she didn't like that one bit. Her red eyes flickered over to Jack momentarily with a look that said thanks for making the next two hours of my life a living hell. No, she wasn't hopeful about this at all. Teamwork still wasn't her thing...

On the bright side, if there was one, she might get to dislocate someone's arm.

Jack wasn't really in the mood to pay any angry glares he might have gotten too much attention. He was well aware that teamwork wasn't everyone's thing -- but he really put emphasis on it. Working together was important, and a partner could save your life out there on the field when things got rough. Besides, you couldn't play hide and seek on your own, could you?

For the sake of everyone else though, he thought it was the best decision to keep Eve busy. He was already hurt and he doubted she'd do anything to make it worse...and even if she did, it wouldn't matter to him. Barely a day passed where he didn't get hurt in some way, he was used to it.

"So," he said to the shorter girl, after having made his way over to her, "Up for it or would you rather follow your own schedule?"

Well, the fact that he would let Eve do her own thing was rather tempting, but she had come here so she might as well make use of it. The girl frowned as she pulled her knee length blonde hair into a pony tail. "Might as well. As long as it isn't a game of tag." She grumbled a bit.

Games were simply bad memories and that's as in detail as she really would ever want to go in front of all these dunces. "Age before beauty." Her smile was halfway to a smirk. Why yes Snake, she just called you old, and she rather likes it.

Big Boss just knitted a brow and gave one of his characteristic grunt-grumble-growls, placing a hand on his hip, shifting his weight from one foot to the other. "I'm still injured, you know." Not like that would stop him -- hardly anything did, be it broken bones, his age, or certain clones.

"Fine. Turn around, close your eyes and count till 180."

Ocelot is great at seeking but not at hiding. 8| fancy_shooting November 3 2009, 13:47:27 UTC
Ocelot hated the fog, but he hated rain more. With that comparison and an uncommon lack of rainfall, he was in good spirits and quite alert despite the early hour.

He stood in his usual cocky stance, a revolver spinning around one finger as he surveyed the arrivals and sent measuring glances in Big Boss' direction.

"Heh. Looks like he's feeling a lot better."

Now, Sora may have been a lot of things, but he most certainly was not stealthy. After all, it was a little difficult for an airhead fifteen year old boy dressed in brightly colored dungarees to utilize the element of surprise, especially when wielding a giant key that almost matched his height in length. Back on the Destiny Islands had been well known among his tight circle of friends for running blindly into danger without so much as realizing it; traffic, crowds, woodland, the sea .... oh yes, he took some serious looking after ( ... )

"I hope you don't mind me intruding." It sounded a little grumpy, but the strategist seemed alert enough, if not a little grumpy. Caesar shambled up to the older, taller man, blinking owlishly as he stuffed his hands in his pockets and shivered. "But we're as empty-handed as usual in my own brigade, and I figured it'd be a good time to get a look at what these people can do."

A pause, and he glanced over his shoulder with a frown before returning his attention to Big Boss. "Is that going to be a problem?"

"Not at all," Big Boss replied, realizing that someone was approaching and turning before he could make out Caesar's dark silhouette in the thick fog.

"Other brigades and civilians are always free to observe and join in. No point in trying to keep it all exclusive if we're going to work together anyway." He had to look down on the other man to meet his gaze, and tried to do it in a way that didn't seem haughty or the like; fortunately he was used to most people being shorter than himself and knew how to face them without seeming disrespectful.

"Though, I suppose, you won't be seeing much of them today. At least if they take this exercise seriously," he continued, and then added as an afterthought, with an inviting gesture and a small smile, "What do you know about stealth? I bet I could track you down within five minutes."

"My thoughts, exactly. Beyond that, considering the situation with the second brigade, I'm starting to wonder if we won't have to lead them around for a bit until things settle down. It might be best to combine the two, tomorrow ( ... )
