I want to go back home... I miss my mom and my dad and my sisters... I, sadly enough, even miss Mississippi... if only for the people I associate it with. I am so, so tired of school, especially my money-sucking, bass-ackwards, frelling idiotic one. I hate dealing with the fact that if I stay at this school, i'm going to slowly disintegrate into a ( Read more... )

You want my advice, imouto?

Transfer. Transfer back home, to MS. Go to a community college if you have to. Don't stay where you're completely miserable. If you can't deal with community college (hey, it's where I went for my technical degree and where I'm going back again to start my four-year academic degree) because it's not good enough for you, Southern's here. You need a private school? What about William Carey? You have options, hun, options that will put you here, at home, where you won't be lonely. Then after a couple years, if you want to go back to that school or another one, you'll have more options... regular academic credits from any school around here will transfer just about anywhere. PLus you'll have the added benefits of being able to eat your mom's cooking whenever you want, seeing your baby sister, and hanging out with the people you love that are still here. Plus, it'll be cheaper. ($$ == Big point.)

I hate to say I told you so, but I did warn you about this, hun. *huggles*

Indeed, I agree. Whether you get credits at a community college or not, doesn't make much difference. In the end, if you go on to a graduate school you still get the same degree, and it's MUCH cheaper. You just need to decide where you will be the happiest and doing what. Sometimes money, a school, people, just aren't worth the personal cost you have to endure. Think it over for a couple of weeks, though. You don't want to decide something, and then regret it later.

Oh, and taking a semester off, or something like that isn't a bad idea. If you're having trouble, take a semester off and work for a while. Save a little money, and then go back. It's very easy to get burned out, especially if you overload yourself.

i don't really know what to say but i do want you to know i care--don't worry more than it takes to figure it out--and know that well, none of that stuff would make you a failure.
