Even if I love your plotheavy writings, it was relieving to read a fic where they not actively try to kill each other, but rather combat with pleasure. And yes, the ending is a bit harsh, but it wouldn't be them without it. Sugar is nice, but salt adds to the flavors. ;) And Ratigan's tongue... "a muscle quite like this one, as strong and sinister as the rat himself"... *full body blush* Considering the relative sizes we are talking (or writing/thinking) about here, this scene is positively obscene and INSANELY HOT! I blame it all on your talent. <3

Trust me, I was equally relieved to write a fic that did not consist entirely of insane mind games and complicated plotting (although, obviously, the mind games managed to end up in there anyway, haha). "Combat with pleasure" is the perfect way to describe this one! Excellent turn of phrase! :D

Hey, YOU'RE the one who got me started on the whole rat-tongue kink!! I can't remember how many fics ago it was, but you mentioned your rat having quite an, ahem, exceptional tongue, and you knew it was bound to turn up in the series sooner or later. :P I'd been aching to write something "positively obscene" for this pairing--- SUCCESS.

Seriously, though, I am thoroughly humbled that I have induced keyboard-mashing of such passion and intensity. It really makes me feel like I have what it takes to be a writer. T_T

And as they say, YOU started it! Thanks for the awesome prompt, I was in a major slump (Y SO SRS??) and I needed to write something just ridiculous and insane and filthy, and this was exactly what the doctor ordered. Why as a matter of fact, I am leaving on Friday for a research trip. For my novel. Which is set in late-Victorian London. SO NOW YOU KNOW WHY I WRITE SO MUCH GMD FIC LOL. XD

Trust me, the minute this thing is available for purchase, I am going to be SHOVING it in everyone's FACES on a NON-STOP BASIS. Like O HAI DID I MENTION MY NOVEL WELL HERE IT IS. XDDD

And you will have to pay for them so that SOMEONE will be buying them and then my publisher will be like OMG WRITE MOAR NOVELS and I'll be like OKAY IF YOU INSIST. This is my master plan. This is what I basically tell people when they ask me what I plan to do with my life. 9_9

I read this with bated breath and I absolutely went still when Ratigan bit his shoulders. So very, very hot. And I loved the bit about the opera! The tension was so fabulous! I loved how you wrote it just so well(: I always love your Ratigan/Basil fics. You've made them so very believable and so very real(:

Ohhhh, what a LOVELY comment. Always glad to hear that I've induced some bated breathing in my readers! :D And I'm glad the opera went over well, too--- I was a bit nervous about including it, but it fit their situation so perfectly that I just couldn't resist!!
