Total agreement on the zombie horde & dreading the idea of a Raki-redeems-Priscilla finale.
My 2 cents:
I didn't like the way this episode was directed. I hated that they cut away from the action to show more of the cave scene (which, btw, I thought went on just a little bit too long). It killed the tension and emotional impact of seeing some good characters die.
I guess this is more complaining about the changes from the manga, but another thing that I didn't like was that they showed some Claymores getting killed before Ligardes showed up. Maybe I'm just remembering wrong but the feeling I got from the manga was that they seemed to have a relative handle on things and then whoosh! Ligardes shows up and the captains are taken out in rapid succession. That was devastating.
Undine ended up growing on me. Ah, she and Flora and Jean (Veronica, we hardly knew ye!) will be missed.
I'm gonna miss the ones that died. I don't remember what my reaction was to the manga, but seeing them being cut down was saddening.
I personally thought though that out of all the episodes shown so far, this was the most gruesome, I don't recall it being so in the manga.
I didn't like it :(
You're right, the Awakened beings sounded pretty terrible for the most part, more like normal Yoma if anything rather than the intelligent creatures that they should be.
I like how there was more focus on Undine too - as you said, she was in character right to the very end. The manga seemed to make it seem quite brief.
I don't like what they're doing with Raki nad Prissy, it's too different, and I'm wary of what's gonna happen next. I like how they kept with the manga (Raki finding Prissy's clothes).
Well, how male Awakened beings are supposed to sound XD ? They're approaching a fight and tried to sound threatening, or maybe it's way to cheer themselves up, as guys do before a game. I don't see how making sounds = stupidity.
I liked how Ligard took care of the Claymores. Quick and merciless: depriving the viewer of the pathos is always a good thing.
I didn't find Raki's reaction to Priscilla's dinner very realistic XD But I guessed that they wanted to play on Raki's sympathy for people who had their relatives killed... Besides Isley's reply sounded like he's decepting Raki, alluding to the fact that also some humans can act as yomas... Or this was my impression.
I agree that awakened beings resemble dinosaurs.. but i remember some of them do look different. as for them not making some intelligible noise, yeah that was disappointing. they look like the lowest ranked hollows in bleach, or rather the dumbest beings on earth, totally insignificant to the show.
i'm ok with the raki-priscilla part. BUT, i still hate priscilla and can't stand it when she acts cute and innocent.
It wasn't that they were making sounds. It was the sounds they were making. Okay, try this: walk down the hallway and go "hnrr" to yourself the whole way. Basically, you'll sound like an idiot
( ... )
I almost wish that they had been diverging from the manga all along
YES. The ways it is, the anime is just a poorly done preview of the manga. It's completely pointless and full of plot holes that probably won't be filled in the next 5 episodes.
and being the reason for the Northern War in the first place
...Wait, really? Why? D: Man, I should really reread Claymore.
nor would Clare sacrificing herself in the final battle.
dsfgdsgfdgdgd GOD NO. I'm just hoping for Clare getting killed.
That or everyone will start showing up and there will be a battle royale. I think that would probably be worse.
Ouch, yeah. No way to wrap that one up well.
As Miria said, this is a suicide mission. They are only trying stall Isley long enough to complete their #1/2 controlled awakened being. Not that it really matters, given Isley's true plans.
Yeah, but why did Isley attack in the first place?
Dinosaurs! That's the word I was looking for! I kept looking at the awakened beings and thinking: "They all look very similar to something...but what?" I also noticed the groanings of the horde. If I hadn't been paying attention, I would have thought that I was watching something else
( ... )
Killing Teresa doesn't make her the strongest opponent, since Teresa was caught off guard, not to mention that the time she spent with Clare weakened her. And in her current state, I don't think Priscilla would give Clare much of a fight.
