Last night I spent 2 hours and 32 minutes watching The Dark Knight. I'll start by saying I've been a fan of Batman since I was a little kid. I was one of those that thought he was cooler than Superman sheerly by the fact that he did all this stuff without having any super powers.

Great news for anyone who loves works of great cinema and works of great science fiction. A nearly intact reel of the original cut of Fritz Lang's Metropolis has been located in South America and is going to be restored and distributed. Stan Winston passed away on Sunday evening. He brought us so many Sci-Fi movies and special effects through is collaborations with Cameron and Spielberg and so many others. Well, last night I got to see a pre-release screening of the new Edward Norton picture The Incredible Hulk. It also includes stars Liv Tyler, Tim Blake Nelson, Tim Roth, and William Hurt. Well, I just recently got back from watching a preview of the Prince Caspian movie. It is the second in the Chronicles of Narnia series. It's the fourth book in the modern version of the series, but it was the second book published and meant to be a direct sequel to The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe.

Iron Man opened to $100,750,000 this weekend. The Friday showing I went to was packed, but... good God, I can't imagine how many people went to see it. I can't remember a 100 million dollar movie in a standard weekend.

It opened to another $96.7 million internationally on the same date.
