Sad news to report. I'm afraid Gaz Hunter aka the_hunter passed away last night. His good friends and neighbours Ros and Chloe were with him.

A very much loved friend who be missed by all of us.

Sitting out in the garden where it is now pleasantly warm instead of "Oh my God scorchio!!" Testing out what happens when I use Livejournal on hudl instead of laptop. Some of Livejournal's features were clearly not designed with tablet use in mind, but that's understandable given that LJ predates tablets by the best part of a decade ( Read more... )

Quite a while since my last post!

Not a lot to say other than that I've discovered Game of Thrones. Good, isn't it?

Trying to find out how many of my friends still post here. At least a few, it seems :-)

People who were at the Discworld Convention 2014 may remember today is a year since the day that became known as 'Fire Alarm Saturday' :-) Which was still a great day despite that. Doesn't seem like a year since the Convention!

I had a look at afp (newsgroup) for the first time since March. As I thought, not a lot going on. Shame, but to be expected...

The original reason I dropped back into Livejournal was to look up about five or six old friends I hadn't heard of for ages. I found one or two as they'd posted fairly recently, but the others seem to all have wandered off to elsewhere (online and generally). And what I actually meant to do this evening was look at tape to mp3 recorders, as digitising on my old one takes ages. My laptop would be great but it doesn't have a line in socket, so an actual tape to mp3 recorder that works through a USB connection would be good :-)
