[Well, it's snowing outside. Again. Miyabi had been meaning to work more on her surprise for her friends, but with the thick falling snow, anything she tried to get done would be ruined. So, Plan B! She hippity hopped her way to where her and Salt's home was, buried in the snow, and not becoming any less buried with the current weather. The little

On the northern sea of Ryoshima far, far out into the distance, one single island stood, shaped like a grinning devil. This island, inhabited only by monsters and demons, was called Oni Island.
Every years, hundreds of the monsters would sail to the mainlands and plunder the villages and towns, stealing riches, slaughtering animals and burning crops, and also stealing away young maidens to feed to their king, the Demon Lord.
All those who opposed the oni were killed, and no one had yet been able to set sail to the island to slay them. For the demons had hundreds of thousands of archers, armed with flaming arrows, and every ships would be burned and sunk before it even got close to shore.

A myth, maybe? [She doesn't hear those often.]

If you don't mind it being a little short, and a mite bit frightening, this myth is derived specifically from my homeland, a world of white...where the snow falls thick and cold on the icy ground, and whispers can be heard in the cool wind. The frigid northern lands of Nippon...A place called Kamui.
There are tales and rumors about Kamui, told all throughout Nippon. "It is a cursed land," they say, for stories tell that evil spirits crawl over the snow and hide beneath it, that demons lurk in the shadows and, of course...
There is that one rumor. The story of Laochi Lake and the iron ark that lay within its always frozen waters. No one knows for just how long the iron ark stood, half frozen in the icy lake, and no one dares near it to search for answers.
This is a story of demons...of their origins in the northern lands, and of the Dark lord who rules over them all.

Of course I do! We used to tell stories a lot back home, when we had nothing else to do and didn't want to paint, heh. [She gives a pleasant hum as she thinks of a good story that Luffy would like. He seemed like the adventure type, and obviously a man of the sea. She didn't know about the ocean - never really having been on it or seeing it up close before - but she did know one story about it. She hoped he'd enjoyed it.] I know one. It's about a haunted sunken ship on the ocean~
[She clears her throat, and begins, waiting for him to get comfortable first.] Legend tells of a large and noble ship on the ocean, half sunken by unknown means. It's laid there, undisturbed for decades, and no one ever dared to go and explore it, or ask what the cause of its sinking was ( ... )

Eons ago, in a deep forest where the waters of the world pooled together, a wondrous city once stood proud and tall. Now, however, there are merely ruins of the lost civilization. No one knows why the people or city died out and was destroyed, and no one dares to find out. The ruins are hard to get inside of, opening only to the power of a crimson gem - the color of fresh blood - placed into the gate guarding the entrance.
However, a young boy and his dog were foolish enough to go inside, after the dog, Ume had dug up the blood red stone.

As the stone gate opened with a sickening grinding sound, the two entered into the dark, dingy cave where the Tsuta Ruins lay. Immediately, the dog yowled with pain and covered his nose with his paws. The scent inside was like that of decaying flesh, and even the boy, had to keep from retching. A foul lake lay before them, a waterfall dumping the liquid sludge down in bucketfuls The boy didn't dare drink or near the waters, for he knew just by looking that it was poisoned, and could kill instantly if one was foolish enough to slip in. He called for Ume and set off alone the narrow bank, gazing around ( ... )

Clearing her throat, she begins.]Upon a bright spring day, a skilled warrior was out exploring. He had heard rumors of an odd occurrence in these parts, where a song would carry through the forest, then vanish once one got too close to a sacred spring. The inhabitants of a nearby village had thought it to be an evil spirit, and hired the warrior to exterminate it, for he was skilled with with his sword and moved swiftly, like the wind ( ... )
