I don't really have any advice about if you should start a new journal, but I just wanted to tell you that I totally get the whole "let people tell you what to do because you're too scared to make your own decisions" thing. Sometimes it's just easier to go with the flow instead of stopping to think what do you really want. It bothers me and scares me, but I think that's just all part of being young and figuring it all out.

It sounds cheesy, but it always works out in the end. If everything's not okay, it's not the end.

I'd say don't start a new journal. You can set everything to private and start anew here. But maybe you need to start anew somewhere else, taking just a few friends with you and breathing again. So, I'll say start a new journal, friend only the ones you really want to in your new life, and forget about the rest.

That's a tough one... I'd probably make a new journal myself. Sometimes it feels good to just start a new/start fresh. You could put a link to your old journal on the new one. With a new one, you can do a new layout, concentrate on certain fandoms, browse for new icons, whatever it may be. Join certain groups that way you don't have to sort through which ones you wanna keep etc.
