I was wondering if Arlo would start talking about grandchildren, and can you imagine Arlo with a grandchild? I can, but it certainly wouldn't be a child of mine.
He’d either tell them to ride their bikes into walls or just pull their teeth out himself to get the Tooth Fairy money.
And it is wrong, how many fathers and sons would pull guns on each other?
And Raylan did what he said in the pilot: when he pulls he has to use it. That’s what it’s for. Even if it’s his dad. That snake.
The Miami Drug Cartel takes care of Bo for Boyd (or maybe that was Boyd's Heavenly Father taking care of Bo for Boyd, I wonder if Boyd will ponder this later in his life, if his life lasts much longer)
I love that. It very well have been a Heavenlyintervention from keeping Boyd from doing something he would regret.
Winona takes off her wedding ring to cheat on her husband with Raylan. Is it cheating if Winona doesn't wear her ring and Gary is living at the Gym?She is love drunk on Raylan. That’s her whiskey. I’m guessing she either told him

Arlo would, he really would. And he would find a way to extort money out of the Tooth Fairy too. Hey, was the rapist guy the same guy who played the Tooth Fairy on SPN? I thought that he looked familiar. Good Eye!

See what Bo and Arlo did? They made poor Tim Riggins off himself.
All the Bad Dads on this show.
It's a bit refreshing and a lot disturbing. I couldn't believe Arlo would use Raylan that way. He's all about self-preservation and there's no room for anything else. And the same with Bo--at least having someone beating up your son isn't the same as setting him up in a trap where you know there's a distinct possibility he'd be killed.
I don't know which Boyd I like the best. The one who is filled with Hate. Or the one who is Filled with Love who uses Extreme Prejudice to EnForce God's Will. Now there's Michael for you.
I admit I love the first one. Or if it had turned out that he was using this newfound redemption as a further rouse, I would've loved that, now it seems he really did find religion. D'oh!
With all the Crowders gone, she doesn't need Raylan to protect her (I think that she did a good job of that on her own)She didn't need him . And even in scenarios where I assumed he'd run to her side like finding out she didn't

I just watched the fifth episode where Arlo is introduced breaking and entering and wielding a baseball bat like Thor's Hammer. And the episode is called The Lord of War and Thunder. It is beautifully done. Arlo appears to be a Pagan God who is as fickle and as mighty and indifferent to conventional human values as any Trickster. It's almost a child's eye view of Arlo, as the child Raylan must have been

I really enjoyed all your comments about Arlo. I was unpleasantly surprised by how morally bankrupt he turned out to be. He seems like such a weasel now... it's nice to be reminded of his entrance, smashing things up like THOR. Again, reading your comments makes me want to watch all the episodes again.
As much as I can see Raylan reacting against his father... I think some of his quick thinking and charm... came from his father. Yuck bad daddy. But still... I don't know. I hope that Arlo... has a moment of unselfishness toward Raylan at some point. Not very realistic but...
I don't know who Boyd will be next season. He's lost everything that defined him. And that's really interesting! Hopefully the writers and creaters and Elmore Leonard will puzzle out something delicious.
I loved the moment between Raylan and Boyd in the end. There was just something so perfect about that last fake gunshot. <3

You're such an optimist with such faith in humanity. Arlo is an older man and they are usually set in their ways. But maybe there is something more, something good somewhere there. I still can't figure out why Helen married the guy. Unless Helen is a little shady herself. shardsofblu thinks that Helen is running interference for Raylan with Arlo, but I just don't know. That is something I want the show to explore.

That is an astute observation about Boyd. His family, his religion, his business, his followers---all gone except for Raylan, his old frenemy.
Yes! Strong, flawed women. It's wonderful.I hope that we see more of Rachel next season. I liked her prickly demeanor when she accused the US Marshal Service of favoritism toward Raylan. She wasn't taken in by Raylan's inherited charm. And I think that there is that old boys network in the

Thanks for the link. Those TV Guide articles are full of links. By the time I got through them all, I had to restart my browser on my LJ page. Haha! Too many Back Pages to keep track of.
In the first episodes of the season, they had more women characters in the US Marshal's Office to keep track of. There was a secretary with glasses who meandered in her answers to questions. She disappeared, too.
It would be a shame to drop Rachel because I think that they could get a good story out of her "outsider" status in the US Marshal's Office. She made it clear that she wasn't from Kentucky and considered her assignment there to be the equivalent of being stuck on an icebound ship during winter in the Arctic Circle.
And I enjoyed Tim's character, too. He had a baby face and was a proficient killer. Now that is the stuff of legends.
they've made a very deliberate choice to show a character taking off the wedding ring before the cheating deed and putting it back on afterwards. It is definitely telling me something about Winona and how she sees her relationship with Raylan. I think that she thinks that she is still married to him. She can take off the second marriage and have at it with Raylan without it being cheating. Annul the second marriage during those times that she wants the first marriage back in force. It seems like some of those marriages that the Catholic Church annuls even though the marriage produced five kids. It is all for convenience's sake

That scene in the car really got me, when Raylan acknowledged that it's his shooting of Tommy Bucks that has started this whole avalanche.
I liked this because for me, taking another human's life should be a very grievous act that precipitates great consequences and requires expiation, even if the taking of that life was justified or had the weight of the state and the judicial system behind it.
I really had a hard time trying to determine who has the the worse parent on this show, Raylan or Boyd.Again, that is what makes it so delightful for me to watch. I think of all those people who justify their bad acts in life because of their upbringing and neglect and bad dads or parents. Then I look at Boyd and Raylan who had the worst dads in the world and look at them and what they did with their lives. It's who you are and how you get out from under that matters in the end. Raylan had his mother and Helen. I still don't know whom Boyd had to counteract Bo's influence. Was it Raylan? Was it someone else whom we will find out about in

I kind of hope that Ava escapes also.
