I hope that Arlo... has a moment of unselfishness toward Raylan at some point. Not very realistic but...
You're such an optimist with such faith in humanity. Arlo is an older man and they are usually set in their ways. But maybe there is something more, something good somewhere there. I still can't figure out why Helen married the guy. Unless Helen is a little shady herself. shardsofblu thinks that Helen is running interference for Raylan with Arlo, but I just don't know. That is something I want the show to explore.
I don't know who Boyd will be next season. He's lost everything that defined him.
That is an astute observation about Boyd. His family, his religion, his business, his followers---all gone except for Raylan, his old frenemy.
Yes! Strong, flawed women. It's wonderful.
I hope that we see more of Rachel next season. I liked her prickly demeanor when she accused the US Marshal Service of favoritism toward Raylan. She wasn't taken in by Raylan's inherited charm. And I think that there is that old boys network in the Service and some old white boy camaraderie that might exclude her. I'd like to see her deal with it and I'd like to know her background and how she ended up in the Service.
That long lanky one lounging. Is that Paul Newman?
That is Jane Fonda's daddy, Henry Fonda. He was in a few John Ford Westerns and he was very good in them.
I think that this is a very cowboy/western show. But it is set in the East and Kentucky. Again, the writers like their irony.
Thanks for the link. Those TV Guide articles are full of links. By the time I got through them all, I had to restart my browser on my LJ page. Haha! Too many Back Pages to keep track of.
In the first episodes of the season, they had more women characters in the US Marshal's Office to keep track of. There was a secretary with glasses who meandered in her answers to questions. She disappeared, too.
It would be a shame to drop Rachel because I think that they could get a good story out of her "outsider" status in the US Marshal's Office. She made it clear that she wasn't from Kentucky and considered her assignment there to be the equivalent of being stuck on an icebound ship during winter in the Arctic Circle.
And I enjoyed Tim's character, too. He had a baby face and was a proficient killer. Now that is the stuff of legends.
