So, a while back I talked about Avengers: Infinity War, and how it was the culmination of a decade of Marvel movies that led up to the ultimate cliffhanger. So, how does said cliffhanger get resolved?

Let's find out!

I did enjoy the movie but man, I HATE the time travel stuff because it really does mess up everything. What did Thor use during Dark World and part of Ragnorak if Future!Thor nicked his hammer?? I've seen explanations for how Steve could live a life without screwing up the main timeline but there's enough holes to drive a truck through. And lastly, they killed off the wrong one out of Natasha and Clint. Damn their eyes!

I do hate time travel in general, but I was willing to forgive this movie for that. It takes a lot of effort to make time travel even remotely plausible on screen, but hell, you're in a comic book movie where the snap of a fingers wipes out half the population of everywhere. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. :D

(Maybe Odin was right and Thor really is the God of Hammers. Now that would be comedy gold...)

And yeah, I wanted Hawkeye to make the plunge. I didn't know who was going to do it, but I wanted him to go.

I did say that if that was the excuse Marvel use not to do a Black Widow movie, I was going to burn down Kevin Feige's office :) But I'm told the current rumour is the potential movie was always going to be a prequel to the Avengers so it might still happen.

I also now want a Scarlet Witch movie. Hoo boy howdy!

There were a lot of small but worthy cameos, throwbacks from past movies, Easter Eggs, foreshadowings, and other moments to pay attention to ( ... )

Thanks for the recap (done in your usual, inimitable way). Saw the film at a minute after midnight on Wednesday -- my first-ever midnight premiere, woohoo! (Although, why I picked a 3-hour movie for that, especially coupled with an encore of "Infinity War" right beforehand beats me; I still have blisters on my butt from being glued to a rather uncomfortable seat for nearly 6 hours!)

I enjoyed "Endgame" overall, but I found the Girl!Power moment rather cheesy, thought that Fatboy Thor was way overdone (in a "funny once" way), and HATED that they killed off Iron Man. I know it's because of Reasons *cough*RDJ costs too much money*cough*, but he so was my favorite! *sniffle*

Must rewatch on DVD, methinks ... now where's my 2019 Christmas list?

Yeah, I had an event Saturday morning so my brain said "Well, obviously if you go to the 3 am showing you can just stay up and make it to your 7 am event." Perfectly logical.

Regarding your peeves...
1) the Girl Power moment was pretty forced and contrived, I liked the idea but it was too obvious.
2) I liked the idea of Thor letting himself slide into a depressive spiral of boozy slacking to try to forget his failure. Yes, five years of that would give him some chub. Is the joke overplayed? Perhaps, yeah. But I like the concept. God knows if I were in his shoes, I'd have done the same.
3) I wanted both Iron Man and Captain America to die heroically. I expected Cap to die, not Iron Man, so I was pretty surprised by that turn. But I'm glad Cap got a happy ending and retirement. I was honestly hoping more Avengers would die, just to make it more grim and gritty.

Here's hoping they'll release an Infinity War two-pack Blu-Ray with all the bonus features and stuff for both movies, because I'm all in for that.
