So, a while back I talked about Avengers: Infinity War, and how it was the culmination of a decade of Marvel movies that led up to the ultimate cliffhanger. So, how does said cliffhanger get resolved?
Let's find out!
CUE SPOILERS UNDER CUT, SO, YOU KNOW, FOREWARNED.
(
Rocks fall, everyone dies. )
1. Iron Man and Captain America meet up. Iron Man does not hold back in stating his opinion of Captain America. It's about as harsh as possible.
2. Hawkeye loses his family. He is just not ready for that.
3. Hulk: "We have a chance. We've got a way to stop Thanos."
Thor: "DON'T... SAY... THAT... NAME."
4. Rocket: "Come here. Closer. Right here." *slaps Thor* "Get a hold of yourself! You need to focus. I know that's your mom. She's dead. She's really really dead. But there are a whole lot of people who are only kinda dead. So is it too much to ask that you pull yourself together and help me finish this so we can save those people?"
5. Hawkeye: "I'm beginning to think we mean two different people."
Black Widow: "All these years I've been gearing up for this moment. This chance."
(they fight) (they hang over the precipice)
Black Widow: "Let me go."
Hawkeye: "No!"
Black Widow: "It's ok." (kicks out, breaks his grip, plummets to death)
Hawkeye: "NO!"
(I knew this scene was going to happen, but I genuinely could not tell which one would die.)
6. Ant Man: "Guys? I think it worked!"
(everything immediately explodes)
7. Just to repeat, Captain America summoning Mjolnir is literally the high point of this film. We saw it in Age of Ultron, but this moment was perfectly sculpted and worthy.
8. Star Lord at the end searching for Gamora raises an interesting question. What exactly happened when Iron Man used the gauntlet? Did he wipe out Thanos and all of his minions and equipment? If so, does that include Gamora? He would have had no way of knowing that she switched sides during battle. And we don't see her again after that moment. So... did she vanish? And if not, then where did she go?
9. Iron Man meeting his father while Captain America watches Peggy Carter. Simple, but touching.
10. Captain America: "Hail Hydra."

(Maybe Odin was right and Thor really is the God of Hammers. Now that would be comedy gold...)
And yeah, I wanted Hawkeye to make the plunge. I didn't know who was going to do it, but I wanted him to go.
