[The SFC clicks on in time to hear a flame, then a sigh; Ban's lit a fresh cigarette and exhaled. He chuckles softly.]

Did anyone freak out over our little earthquake the other day? It's been a while since I've actually felt one, gotta admit. Especially to the newcomers - first bit of general advice is to get used to the natural occurrences here. ( Read more... )

I've felt worse before too but it seems weird that it was felt underwater. I know that volcanoes and earthquakes happen underwater but its weird to actually experience it.

Well since there was an earthquake and then this nasty coloring...I bet that they are connected!

Do you want company Ban?

You're tellin' me. I've dealt with earthquakes before, but being under the sea, it just feels different somehow. An' I wouldn't doubt them being connected somehow. Seems like everything here's been happening for a reason.

I'm not gonna stop you if you're heading the same way. Just promise you won't have any more accidents.

I agree with that. It seems like the people here like to play with us. The fact that the natives are worried is starting to worry me.

Oh shut up Ban [She means this without rancor]. I'm not that bad!

[ooc: Do you want to do an action post or a log? XD]

Mhmm. But every time you try to ask 'em what's up, they just smile and nod. Getting pretty aggravating if you ask me.

Heh. Do I need to list everything that's happened so far?

[Whichever you prefer - if it's a log, you can keep it open too, just in case anyone else pops up.]

The rubber ducks really are looking like the calm before the storm. Makes me concerned what we're going to have to deal with next.

But hey, enjoy your walk. The green-ish color kinda makes you miss the sky, huh?

Real ducks falling from the sky? Or maybe toads.

Heh, it does. But it kinda nails in the whole "underground" feeling, too.

You know... I have a feeling we'd be lucky if it was just that.

It does! I still miss the sun on some days, though.

I'm giving us all a fighting chance here, Saya.

I always do. I miss being able to take a drive, too. Wonder how Miss Ladybug's holding up...

Earthquakes under the ocean are normal occurrences on Earth.

I know. It's just weird experiencing it for yourself.

Land earthquakes are often caused by quakes under the ocean. Therefor if you have experienced an earthquake in the past the probability is high that it was an underwater quake.

[He takes a long drag on his cigarette before sighing.]

I know. It feels different on land than under the sea. Looks different, too. You new here?

It must have happened before I arrived, but now that you mention it the water does seem a little murky than you'd expect to see in an underwater city. Do you suppose a volcano went off on the surface?

[He's mildly concerned for Iceland again--The boy did just have one of his volcanoes erupt recently, after all--Wait a minute. Did he just say 'rubber duckie rain'?]

If you don't mind my asking, what was that about rubber duck rain?

Actually, it looked a lot nicer just the other day. Just weird that it'd get bad so quickly, considering how far down we are.

[He chuckles.]

...I thought you looked new. Last week, it was raining rubber ducks.

Perhaps a nearby shipwreck was stirred up and made the water so murky. ...Doesn't explain the fish, though.

I arrived earlier this morning. Is that... Normal?

It's a possibility, but then again...you've got the fish.

For this place, it's normal. Gotten yourself situated yet?

[After lots of experimentation and random messages filled with him tinkering sent to random people, Rosencrantz thinks he may understand how to work this magic talking object. He speaks awkwardly loudly and too slowly in case his voice needs to carry a long ways...that is until he catches sight of Guidenstern's "what is wrong with you" glare and begins to talk normally.]

Did you say rubber duckie rain?

[Of course this is what he would have gotten out of the whole thing]

[pause]

Is there even a normal here...I mean even the palace wasn't this confusing.

That's what I said. Did you keep yourself locked up all last week? They were all over the place.

[A short laugh.]

Normal? Here? Who knows. One week it's raining toys, another it's sweltering hot, then it's Christmas in July...who knows what'll happen next.

[Contenpateively]

If there is no normal, then how do you know if something is weird?

Go based by what you're used to dealing with on land?
