[The SFC clicks on in time to hear a flame, then a sigh; Ban's lit a fresh cigarette and exhaled. He chuckles softly.]
Did anyone freak out over our little earthquake the other day? It's been a while since I've actually felt one, gotta admit. Especially to the newcomers - first bit of general advice is to get used to the natural occurrences here. We're under the sea, but life seems to keep going on like normal life on land.
[A pause to take a drag on the cigarette.]
Speaking of normal - it's starting to look pretty nasty outside. Was there an oil spill or something way up above? Or does this have to do with the earthquake? The locals are lookin' a bit worried...hell, I'm almost starting to miss the rubber duckie rain.
[Another laugh.]
I'm talking a walk - gonna check out the shops an' see if anyone's selling instruments or if it's just radios. And pup, don't worry - if I see you, I'll put out my cigarette until you're gone. Wouldn't want your delicate nose to sniff any of my secondhand smoke.
