[Open] Vanish… is that all you know to do?

It's not impossible that Feanor has been more or less conspicuous lately. In fact, after much reflection, he's decided that the only way he could keep himself sane was to set about productive endeavors. To that effect, he effectively hijacked a corner of the library which he found to be rather unused. The walls have gone from cobwebbed to covered ( Read more... )

Feanor looks up after finishing to scribble the quick design he just thought of - and he does turns the page first.

"Nelyo," he says, and there's a bit of warmth, if only in his eyes. "You seem surprised."

The diversity of projects would be the result of his obsessive tendencies, most likely. And the thing he's being secretive about is a surprise for Mae, shhhh.

"I would not lie idle when the Enemy is here," he replies, seriously. "Come - I meant to discuss many things with you."

Curufin's life has not greatly improved since last seeing Daddy. However, he has been looking for places, when he can, anyway, probably closely supervised by a younger brother, and absolutely refusing to discuss anyone whose name starts with M.

Mostly one of them, really, but he figures no one needs to know that, for one, and he can keep his grudges inside perfectly happily, you know, where they will slowly but surely gnaw him to pieces. Happy fun!

However, he does come looking for Daddy, holding a constructed map of the Mansion Grounds in one fist, still on the too lean side, but he pauses at the "entrance" to Feanor's adopted corner.

"Ata, may I interrupt?"

Unfailingly polite to him, anyway.

It's easy indeed to suppose that Curufin's shadow remained that - a shadow. Until he's certain a brother will be safe from himself, Caranthir will never stray quite far.

Feanor looks up, waves him over distractedly. "Come - I was hoping for your opinions on these plans. Come, come," and yes, he's noticed at a glance that his son still looks awful, but doesn't comment.

He bows, slightly, respectfully (of course) and pads over to Feanor to examine the plans he means. "I've found somewhere, I think," he says, as he looks at them, to begin with. "Though it will have to be from scratch."

I am safe from myself, dammit, Curufin says, but he's not really qualified to judge on that. Or possibly anything.

Feanor nods, thinking. "Tell me about the location," he replies, and he turns to shuffle in his plans, taking out already the various possibilities he had in mind for the forge.

We see this going not well, but the typist couldn't resist.

Maximilien is probably in the library looking for more information on this failed Revolution that he kind of thinks of as his, even if he probably shouldn't. Especially given the ignoble failure, he probably doesn't want to. Nonetheless...

He might stumble on Feanor's corner, and if he's slipped out for a moment, Max will be examining the plans with evident curiosity, brows furrowed, because what the hell language is that?

This is going to go pretty damn badly indeed, we can already predict it. "Don't touch that, Atan," Feanor orders him when he spots the nosy fellow. "And get out of my workspace."

Yes, it's an order, no, he won't have any patience for him.

Maximilien turns, expression impeccably cool, and examines Feanor, seeming...anything but impressed. Of course, that says something about Max, namely that he is almost never impressed. "How was I to know it was yours? It seems a...strange place to set up work, if you would sooner people did not interfere..."

"The fact that I am here should be enough. Out, before I remove you bodily."

Nerdanel has spoken to their eldest son, and also just misses a husband. However, she won't interrupt him at his work. Whenever he comes home from planning, she'll be sitting on the bed, watching the door and frowning, brow slightly furrowed in what is no doubt a familiar expression of worry and focus.

Ambarussa separated - killed; and that likely means the others are hiding their own deaths from her; how is she going to keep them all alive, how is she ever going to keep them out of danger?

She will not lose her family again. Not now that her husband's other wives, as she sometimes thought of the Silmarils, are gone for good.

When he finally wanders home, it's late and he is tired. He'll come in, quietly removing his boots and tunic, lost still in his thought - and not quite noticing that his wife isn't sleeping, for once.

He's just so focused on what he's doing.

"Melindo?" She says, softly, not standing, but looking up at him as he disrobes, her expression tired as well - but only a touch, and rapidly gaining in certainty.

He startles a bit. "--- Nelleth --" And then, a concerned frown. "What are you doing up so late?"

Kvothe spends a great deal of his time in the library, and inevitably will eventually come across the space that Feanor has commandeered. He's a quiet person, but is making no effort to conceal his presence as he glances around at papers all over the walls. "Well," he says in a friendly but amused tone. "You've been busy."

Feanor glances at the human - but this one at least isn't being pesky like the other. "I see that your observance is remarkable," he replies dryly.

It's actually not invitation to leave, though.

"I've heard it said," Kvothe agrees pleasantly, taking the lack of invitation to leave as invitation to step closer for a better look. "What have you been up to back here?" He can recognize battle plans, it worries him a little.

Feanor waves at the walls, and says, dryly, "It would seem self-evident, Atan. Was there something in particular?"

As long as Kvothe doesn't start intruding too much (read that, touching Feanor's things,) he should be fine.
