We went out for Chinese food today.  (No, we're not Jewish, and it's not Christmas Day yet!)  After the meal, the waitress brought me a wall calendar.  I knew next year would be the Year of the Rat, so I was quite eager.

A really great episode of X Minus One, Chain of Command.  The head of security at an atomic lab gets a complaint about a mousetrap...  from a mouse!

I stopped by the Disney Store to see if they had any of the giant Ratatouille plushies I'd heard about.  They only had the brown rat, not the grey one that's the star of the movie, so I passed.

I-70 through Glenwood Canyon.  Probably one of the most fantastic stretches of highway I've ever seen.  The roadbed is suspended above the canyon floor.  This picture was taken through the windshield with my cellphone.  The camera appears to have a wide angle lens; in reality the canyon walls appear MUCH closer and steeper.  Unfortunately, the ( Read more... )

Yesterday I bought Postal 2: Apocalypse Weekend. I was a bit disappointed. One of the things I loved about the original Postal 2 was the ability to go pretty much anywhere in the city, even if it had nothing to do with your current tasks. Once again, I had to drive to Temecula, this time to do some tool inventory.

I ended up having to squeeze through a 2 foot by 3 foot hole in a glass-walled tube and climb a ladder to get to the second story.

It was a giant Habitrail.

The receptionist had cornered a little field mouse that had somehow gotten into the building and got stuck in the glass window fronts. She didn't know what to do, and was kind of freaking out, so I picked up the rubber door stop that was lying nearby, scooped him up with it, and kinda tossed him out the front door into the bushes ( Read more... )
