[Sheldon was at the bar. He wanted to get away from his MAC apartment since it was steadily becoming way too small to live in when he's decided to make a few purchases and accumulating some paperwork along the way. He's starting files on everyone he's met and each one is categorized. Nice to know that Big Brother's watching even if he lives among the crowd.

He looks up from his newspaper and slips his pen behind his ear.]

Well, well. Look who's finally decided to come out and join the land of the living. This is the second time we've met at a bar.

[He's nursing a glass of Sprite with a lime.]

[ Elisa laughs slightly. ] Don't let it get out the that Commissioner is actually a member of the undead. And it must be fate.

How's the leg healing up?

That's good. If you were part of a secret undead army, well, I won't tell if you won't.

[Her comment earns a chuckle.]

Oh, as well as to be expected. I started my physical therapy yesterday. The nurse...is a behemoth. [He smirks.] I'm told I'm doing pretty good so far and since I want to climb again, I'll have to make sure that I don't over do it, you know.

[He chuckles softly.]

It's good to see you again.

[He looks back at his newspaper that appears to be housing listings.]

Recommend any good neighborhoods?

How sweet of you. But I think you can check with Seras and Aaron to find out that I'm not undead yet.

[ Her smirk widens at his remarks about the nurses. ] Oh, I have absolutely no doubt you're being a handful. I think I was the worst patient ever when I was in the hospital; kept wanting to get up and go be useful instead of sitting back doing nothing.

And it's good to see you, too. As far as neighborhoods go, well, what's your price point?

[People watching is a shared hobby and after a moment Carmen realizes who's sitting across the bar from her and she saunters over, notebook under one arm and a half finished beer in the opposite hand]

Waiting for someone or relaxing alone, boss?

[ Elisa smiled wryly at her friend and subordinate. ]

If I were waiting for someone, I think I'd have worn something a little less "my usual outfit."

Fair enough.

[Carmen nodded to the seat across from her]

Would you mind some company?

[McClane, however, was planning to get plastered. He's been checking out more and more from administrative stuff, deferring to Lassiter and Cheney maybe a little more than he should while he dedicated his time to trying to hunt down Kid-Killer Angie and any way to get a bead on the goddamn Joker. And tonight, he's burnt out and sick of thinking about the ugliest shit that humanity has to offer.]

[Whiskey helps.]

[Whiskey does help many things. From a couple seats down the bar, Aaron tips his own glass of the same toward McClane.]

[ Saitou didn't go out drinking. He couldn't, if he wanted to keep the people around him at the bar alive. So for the meantime he wasn't drinking anything at all, instead staring out the window from one of the booths in the back corner. One would almost wonder if he hadn't zoned out by now or something - he hadn't moved since coming in. It had started to disturb some of the other patrons nearby on how still he was, but Saitou paid them no attention. He was lost in thought but didn't feel like venturing out to the park to think. So he'd gone and set off for somewhere that no one would notice him, or recognize him. This wasn't his part of town, after all.

So if Elisa cares to people-watch, it might be a little difficult at the moment. Because he was hiding as much as a person could hide in plain sight. He hadn't moved his eyes her way, anyhow, what with the not-moving and all. ]

[ As a cop, it was second nature for her to notice subtle, out of the ordinary signs in her surroundings. And Saitou was being about as subtle as a twenty foot tall neon billboard. Oh, hell, she had no idea what to do about him right now. None whatsoever. No sense in being a coward, though. She met his eyes briefly before continuing her survey of the room. ]

[ ...... Wait.

Where had she come from.

... And why hadn't he sensed her earlier?

Saitou sighed through his nose and didn't return her glance, instead turning more towards the window and grabbing a cigarette out of his pocket. It probably was best anyway, considering now he felt like he needed a drink. ]

Running away again?

[ It was a low blow and a cheap shot, and it exited her mouth before she knew it. ]

[Aaron was doing less people watching, and more watching the remains of his drink. Thank goodness for dark bars, the glasses are off again and sitting next to him. The search for The Major has resulted in a fruitless week, and he finds venting his frustrations at the bottom of the glass more effective than anything else right now.]

[ Elisa spots her subordinate looking fairly morose. Poor guy had even taken off his glasses. ]

Find any life secrets in the bottom of that glass there, Grey?

[He smiles wryly into said glass before glancing over at her.]

None yet, but you'll have a report on your desk tomorrow morning if I do.

You sure you won't want to skip the report for the boss-lady and just go right to the self-help books? You could be on Oprah.
