Recipe for a less grumpy blonde.

Take one (1) Seanan. Add to one (1) comic book store, where the new comics have just arrived. Let it shop for a while. For additional results, allow it to finally talk itself into the first volume of Morrison's 'New X-Men' in hardcover. Really, it'll be less dangerous in the long run, this way. Plus it means she'll have more shelf space for ( Read more... )

shopping, primping, comics, food

Pulled turkey breast? (I have heard of pulled pork, but not pulled turkey breast, which I don't recall seeing at my local Trader Joe's. And if TJ's doesn't have it, there may not be a local source up here in Oregon.)

(We will leave aside the problem of having merely adequate acoustics in one's shower, given that I am unlikely to find a live Seanan in this vicinity in the near term -- darnit anyway.)

Oh, I make it myself. Roast a turkey breast, leave it in the fridge for a day or so, then pull it apart in long, tasty strips of bird.

I'm considering a jaunt up to the Pacific Northwest sometime in the reasonably near future -- I'll keep you posted!

[glyph of anticipation]

A Seanan in the Northwest would be very cool indeed. And there is the prospect of OryCon -- first weekend in November this year....

[If in fact OryCon looks like a possibility, let me know, as I have connections with the concom.]

An opinion on the suitablity of the Morrison X-Men to a long-term Morrison fan [ back as far as Zenith, damn it ] who has never been able to abide X-Men would be appreciated at some point.

I absolutely adore Morrison's X-Men, to the point that this hardcover? Yeah, it's not new material, it's an upgrade of my existing softcover copies of the same books. He has engaging characters, fascinating plotlines, and did a lot to bring the X-Men back to the sort of place I enjoy reading about.

Plus he created the Stepford Cuckoos, for which he gets my eternal and everlasting adoration. The Cuckoos rule.

I've promised my softcovers to a friend in Oklahoma, but if you don't mind mailing them on, I can send them to you for a first read-through, if you'd like.

So what do you do with the mini artichokes.. I assume you mean the ones that are about 2 inches long? I have yet to figure out what to do with them and would love a recipie to try.
The salad sounds yummy.

I generally steam them with garlic and a little fat-free chicken broth, then eat them whole, dipping them in sour cream if I want a little 'zing'. They're splendid.

I can calculate the maintenance costs, but what's the average purchase price for a quality blonde these days?

Depends on breeding, background, where you do your shopping, and what you're planning to do with your blonde once you've got it. They can be pretty darn picky.
