I am amused by how many people I know in these photo sets.

That's just utterly sad lining up at 1 am. *head shake*

At least they did something good with it (food donation).

Well, considering it's been rumored that no one after 4am was even seen, I don't think it's sad at all.

I think that's awesome that they did what they felt they had to do to have a chance at their dream.

I agree. People camp out overnight to SEE shows sometimes. This was potentially a one time chance to be a part of that. Good for them.

I beg to differ. When you really want something, you do what you can. If waking up at 1am to be first is what you have to do, then you damn well do it!

I was on that line and it was absolute CRAZINESS. I don't think anyone who got there after 6:30 or 7 even got an audition slot...so ridic.

How did your audition go?

I didn't get to audition...I got there later than I had intended, about 8 am, and they told us at about 11:50 that they had run out of audition slots and they were giving out standby slots. But I found out later from one of the girls who had been right behind me in line that they ran out of standby slots too.

Looks intense. That's so great that they asked everyone to bring along a can of food - such a good idea.

I want to hear from someone who auditioned, I wonder how many call backs they gave

I got to audition! I don't know how many callbacks they gave though, but just the experience of auditioning was awesome. Considering half of the people that showed up didn't get to audition, I'm pretty proud that I got seen.

That's awesome! It looked like a really fun experience. I would have loved to audition but unfortunately I do not posses the singing talent

did they ask you to sing a song from the show!?

No, I sang a pop song. Several people in line sang songs from the show though, which I thought was a little weird considering they specifically asked for a pop/rock song, but to each his/her own. I guess if you feel comfortable with the song, it doesn't really matter too much.

Is that a Hair vocal book I see? Did someone audition with Hair? That's too funny.

1am girl looks a bit ill. I imagine sitting there all night like taxes on your body; I hope her voice wasn't wrecked.

I saw many many many people with those books haha...I was planning on singing from the show as well, it's not uncommon.

I'm not a singer, so I don't know from experience, but I have heard many times from my friends who do theater that the casting directors do not want to hear a song from the show they are auditioning you for. Maybe thats wrong, I don't personally know!

It depends...if they really don't want to hear something from the show, they'll specify not to. I know for the ECC they were holding they said they would prefer a rock/pop song from the '60s/'70s but they wanted people to sing whatever they were comfortable with.

Usually for professional auditions unless they ask for something specifically from the show, you're not supposed to sing from the show but for this call they pretty much were like "anything goes" as far as I know.
