I took Casey to that audition workshop this morning. It turned out to be basically a class on how to audition. She was not impressed. She texted me at one point "There's a bunch of little kids here!" I woke up at 7:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. That's early for me, but it's not a bad thing. After work last night I had to drop off some paperwork at Payroll, pick up flea and heartworm treatment from the vet, stop at my brother's shop to get hair product for Casey, go home and give Willow those treatments, feed her, clean up after her, etc. And then I made sloppy joes and mashed potatoes for dinner (mmm, healthy) and ate standing up ( Read more... )

So I'm having a little trouble getting my lazy preteen into the holiday mood. We have this little statue of a snowman and a Christmas tree, and when you turn it on the snowman says how many days there are left until Christmas. Casey joined the jazz band at her school, and I signed her up for the (free) Boys and Girls Club after school program since I won't be able to pick her up after her Tuesday practices. I just had lunch with Casey. She's having a decent time, but (she thinks) she's too cool for a lot of the activities. The makeup department came in and did a demonstration, and then they all got to design their own face painting and then paint each other. I got practically nothing done over the weekend, so today will be catch up day.
