Still no internet = losing my mind!

Aug 28, 2007 10:26

Verizon continues to be a bitch.  First, our internet was to be hooked up on the 20th.  Then they inform us that it's actually hooked up five business days after our requested hook-up date (thanks for telling me Kevin).  So yesterday, we have no internet.  Now they say it will be hooked up on the 31st.  So John calls and bawls them out; he's told ( Read more... )

It's nice to connect with co-workers isn't it?

Also, every time I read your blog I am reminded by how much we are alike. I just started making my own earrings etc. this year (got fed up buying earrings that cost $24 and looked like small bauble on a thin piece of wire) - but I've never heard of Moon Beads in Niles. Which is a shame, since I grew up in Niles and, sadly, find myself in town every so often. I'm going to have to check that out! It'll give me another place to either torture my children as I make them be silent and behave OR a good excuse to leave the kidlets at home with hubby so they aren't tortured :)

And I say, most sincerely, as you do not have internet at home (dial up doesn't count especially since you have no modem) that it is a fantastic excuse to go sit in a coffee shop with free internet. In the spirit of sharing your pain - I will go sit at BellaVita and drink coffee and work there today :)

You know, in all of my desperation, I didn't even think about going to a coffee-shop. How dumb am I?! I chalk it up to having no time. And what is this BellaVita you speak of? Where is this unknownst to me coffeeshop located? Elkhart, I ask, heart in my throat?

From what I've heard, MoonBeads is more known for their "new age" status - at least, every Pagan I've met around here knows about the store. They apprently do classes on healing and reiki (not sure how if I'm spelling that right) and psychic stuff. But in the middle of all this, they have a "how to make your own jewelry" class and apparently they have a nice selection of natural stones for jewelry making. So you can have garnet earrings and not be in debt. :)

Oh, and speaking about being alike... if you liked the Black Jewels trilogy, you should check out the Ephemera series; so far there's only two books, Sebastian and Belladonna. I've laughed, I've sighed, I've procrastinated everything else to sneak in one more chapter.

Alas BellaVita is in Granger -- but very very close to the Elkhart line. If you'd like I can e-mail directions. Though I know it is far, it is a FANTASTIC place to write. The owner set it up for people to linger and hang out on their computers.

Ephemera series...hmmmm..sounds like another one I can get sucked into :) Sometimes I think I can't be a successful writer because it cuts into my reading too much!
