Looking at bogs and tweets regarding Mother's Day, there seems to be a common theme of Mother working hard to provide her family with a Potemkin-like experience of pampering her. She does the preparation of the breakfast-in-bed the night before, and by 10am Sunday is presumably slaving away with the cleanup after the children and incompetent father ( Read more... )

Lunch today with Bovrillina aged 5. I was happy yhat she was happy with the food: seaweed salad, rice with soy sauce, tempura vegetable, cucumber sushi. When McDonalds was mentioned, she thought it was a song about farm animals. I am thinking the food-brainwashing is working!

I am finding the variety of social networking tools now available tends to decrease my participation. You would think the other way around -- the more the more -- but it is the opposite.
