The article's title is laughably dramatic - who wouldn't want to read about women leaving men for other women? It could mean the end of the human race! But that's the purpose of a headline I suppose - gotta draw them readers in.

Is it me, or does it seem like a significant number of women who enter romantic relationships with other women choose partners who are androgynous if not out and out masculine? It's as though they long for the best of both worlds - the emotional connection they get with females, and the physical attraction they have for the male body. I always thought the line "I'm a lesbian trapped in a man's body" was a lame, frat house quality pick up line, but I wonder if there isn't a grain of intuition in it as to what a woman desires in a partner.
